MTV News reports from the Bad Boy listening party held Wednesday Night in New York. A bunch of news came out of this event, so let's go over it all.
First, remember when I wrote about the Press Play remixes on Sunday?
Unfortunately, a few great remixes have yet to be released. I hope they will be, but with every passing day, it gets less likely. If the Biggie and Elephant Man ones are really official, as I suspect, they could do a few more remixes and release an "Press Play: Remixes" album. I'd love that. Plenty of other big time Bad Boy fans would love it, too. But, there aren't enough of us to make it happen, I guess. Still, we can ponder the possibility.
I know the idea has been bouncing around in my head and I know a commenter here at BBB mentioned it before, as well. Well, guess what? Diddy has announced plans for a "Press Play" remix album. No joke!
He also announced plans for a second edition of "We Invented the Remix", something I've been thinking about, as well.
Apparently, the winner of the 4th single poll has been crowned - it's "Through the Pain".
The Cheri Dennis single, "Portrait of Love" (which is on her MySpace featuring Gorilla Zoe and Yung Joc) will now feature Diddy. The article notes that it's set to be the first single from Cheri's album, "due this summer."
Here are a couple of track titles from the upcoming Mario Winans release: "Here Comes the Pain" and "Put Your Arms Around Me".
AccessAtlanta reports from the video sets with a couple of pictures. "Coffee Shop" was directed by Lenny Bass while "Hood Figga" was directed by Flyy Ky.
Here are Bad Boy's spots on the latest Hot 100 chart:
25. "Last Night" by Diddy (down from 19).
Here are Bad Boy's positions on the latest Billboard 200 chart.
156. "Press Play" by Diddy (down from 139).
180. "Greatest Hits" by The Notorious B.I.G. (up from 183).
Billboard has the track listing for "Back Up N Da Chevy. Here it is:
"Block Boys"
"Everybody Know Me"
"We Ridin"
"Bite Down"
"Say What's on Your Mind"
"Choppas" featuring Ice Cube
"We Thuggin"
"Paper" featuring Rick Ross
"Table Dance" featuring Rick Ross
"Hood Laws"
"Back Up N Da Chevy"
"Jump"
"We Ready" featuring Yung Joc
"Nothing Is Promised" featuring Yung Joc
The new ones here (from the tracks mentioned before) except for some spelling differences, are "Block Boys", "Say What's on Your Mind", "We Thuggin" and "Hood Laws".
According to his MySpace, Joc will be on TRL with T-Pain tomorrow and will be talking about "Hustlenomics". Check it out at 3:30 PM ET on MTV.

Updating a previous story, B5 will not be on Access Granted today because, according to Yahoo!'s TV listings, there is no episode of Access Granted on today. There is an Access Granted scheduled for June 6 at 7:30 PM ET. No word on the featured video, though.
Update: There are actually episodes on June 4, as well. But, they are not featuring B5. See this post.
In a post at the B5 forums last week, Jim McMahan mentioned the following upcoming B5 appearances.
May 31: Salt Lake Morning TV show. Salt Lake City, UT.
June 1: Eagle Mountain's Silver Lake Amphitheater, Salt Lake City, UT.
June 3: Morey's Piers in Wildwood, NJ.
June 9: 100 Black Men of America Conference at Paris in Las Vegas, NV.
June 15: Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX.
July 14-15: Elitch Gardens in Denver, CO (2 shows per day).
July 25-September 8: Scream Tour 6.
SOHH.com has a quick interview with Yung Joc.
"It’s hard when I can’t go to the grocery store by myself just to get some shit. And always looking over my back," Joc explained. "You don’t know what cats intentions be, man. They see me with something like this on [points at chain] and like, 'oh yeah. We got us a live one.'"

Fabolous' next album will feature "Brooklyn", a collaboration with Jay-Z and Uncle Murder that samples B.I.G.'s oft repeated "Where Brooklyn At?!" line for the chorus (as well as other parts of the song). You can listen to it on Fabolous' MySpace.
From the New York Daily News:
Teams full of NBA and college stars and backed by a cadre of hip-hop elite - including Sean (Diddy) Combs and Jim Jones - are set to battle it out this summer to determine Harlem's basketball king. ...
Ron Artest of the Sacramento Kings, the Houston Rockets' Rafer Alston and David Lee of the Knicks are among the NBA stars expected to play. The tournament is sponsored by Dash's sneaker line Pro-Keds and will feature teams supported by Diddy's Bad Boy label, Jones' Diplomats and DMX's Ruff Ryders.
It's the Kingdome Classic Tournament and it's a 10 week tournament starting June 23.
SOHH.com has Yung Joc's thoughts on the Nitti situation.
"I decided not to do the deal then, with him[Nitti]. I felt the other route going with Bad Boy South, Block Entertainment was a better route for me. And that's what I did. And I think it was a blow to the system over there," Joc told SOHH. "What ended up happening is the shit took off so crazy, so fast and so big, that, it was trying to hold on to me, but it couldn't be done. And I think that when everybody was like to his face, 'damn you let that slip.' I think that in itself kinda fueled the fire for this dude.

With "Press Play", Diddy has given fans one of the things they crave - new music in the form of remixes. And I don't know if you've been keeping track, but "Press Play" has had a lot of remixes - even by Bad Boy standards, which says something. Let's take a run through them.
Official Remixes
"Come to Me (Remix)" (a.k.a. ATL Remix) featuring Nicole Scherzinger, T.I., Yung Joc and Young Dro
With new music, but Scherzinger's vocals still prominently featured throughout, the track opens up with two short verses from Yung Joc and Young Dro, followed by Diddy's original first verse. Diddy's second verse is removed to make room for a longer one from T.I. Released on "Tell Me" CD singles.

Here is what appears to be the cover for Ele's Bad Boy debut.
Yung Joc will be having a party at the Copacabana in Manhattan on June 3. See the flier below.
Diddy is one of a handful of celebrities featured in the Forbes "Rags-To-Riches Celebrities" article.
"In many ways, they announce their success with the items that they buy," explains Ellis Cashmore, author of Celebrity Culture.
This may explain the behavior of New York City-born rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, who moved upstate as a child after the murder of his father. Today, the hip-hop impresario has evolved into a celebrity, in the truest sense of the word. And while he does his part for charity, Combs has never shied away from the luxuries that fame affords. Let his numerous houses and million-dollar soirées serve as evidence.
See his parts in their story in pictures here and here.
Care of the Elephant Man MySpace, here is a picture of the cover:
Here are Bad Boy's positions on the latest Hot 100 chart:
19. "Last Night" by Diddy (down from 17).
Just released. Watch it below.
Here are the SoundScan numbers for the week previous:
139. "Press Play" by Diddy, 5,500 (down from 139, 644,000 overall).
183. "Greatest Hits" by The Notorious B.I.G., 4,300 (up from 184, 129,500).
NR. "Ridin High" by 8 Ball & MJG, 3,300 (129,500).
NR. "New Joc City" by Yung Joc, 1,500 (927,300).
MemphisRap.com reports that 8 Ball & MJG will be performing at Crunkfest 2007 in Memphis, TN on July 21. It'll be at the FedEx Forum - doors open at 6:00 PM.
I'm not sure how long this has been the case, but this is the first I've seen or heard of it... the Boyz N Da Hood website has been updated with new pictures, wallpapers and a bio. Nothing too major.
Update: The episode with the confrontation has aired. Here is a liveblog and here are my thoughts.
You can check out the article at the New York Daily News. It has quotes from the respective attorneys of Diddy and Ms. Gibson.
Basically, Laurie Ann Gibson filed a complaint with the NYPD on the 11th saying that she got into an argument with Diddy and Michael Bivins during a April 25 filming of Making the Band. Why do you file on May 11 if it happened on April 25? She says that Bivins grabbed her while Diddy grabbed a chair to hit her with. From the article:
Bivins then allegedly grabbed her while Diddy picked up a chair and threatened her. She said she broke free, tried to run and Bivins allegedly grabbed her once again. Then she left, the complaint stated.
Gibson's attorney, Peter Toumbekis, said that the filming of the finale has been delayed because of this issue.
Meanwhile, on the flip side, "sources close to Diddy" say he didn't grab a chair, that the argument was just for television and that Gibson took it too seriously. Diddy's attorney, Benjamin Brafman, called it a "false accusation". The article also cites sources who said that Diddy fired Gibson during the argument and yelled for the MTV cameras to be turned off.
The article notes that a spokesperson for the NYPD said that the allegation had been investigated and that no crime had been found - so the case was closed.
Could it be just for TV? When the New York Daily News reports something as a fact with a report that includes Diddy's attorney, Gibson's attorney and an NYPD spokesperson, you'd tend to believe it wasn't. Although, who knows. It will have the side effect of probably raising the ratings, however.
Here are Bad Boy's spots on the most recent Hot 100 chart:
17. "Last Night" by Diddy (down from 13).
The Yung Joc featured single "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')" has now reached #1.
Here are Bad Boy's positions on the most recent Billboard 200:
137. "Press Play" by Diddy (down from 109).
184. "Greatest Hits" by The Notorious B.I.G. (down from 144).
Just heard back. Yes, this is the official cover.
According to the video below, Wyclef will join Diddy and Elephant Man on stage at Summer Jam for Ele's 5 minute set.
Here is the first part of the interview, as well:

While we don't have an official tracklisting on the upcoming Elephant Man album, his MySpace gives us, at least, a partial listing.

"Jump" (some involvement from Swizz Beatz)
"Throw Your Hands Up" featuring Rihanna
"The Way We Roll (Remix)" featuring Shaggy
"You Can Make It"
"Father Elephant"
"Gayl Bruck"

"Willie Bounce"
"Ova Di Wall"
"Gangster Rock"
According to the Chinatown Music MySpace:
Now in 2007, the man with unmatched experience in the volatile world of entertainment stands armed with his own masterpiece ready to take music back to its essence. Calling on some of his longtime associates in the biz, Dofat’s album is co-executive produced by Bad Boy A&R Conrad Dimanche, with help from Derick “D Dot” Angeletti, and will feature artists Mario Winans, Cassie and Diddy himself among several others.
In addition to the guests mentioned previously, Snoop Dogg will also be on "Hustlenomics", according to the Block Entertainment MySpace. They need to get Diddy on there.
BET has announced the nominees for the 2007 BET Awards. Diddy is up for Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for "Last Night" with Keyshia Cole.

From AllHipHop.com:
The New York Police Department monitored and spied on various rappers months before the 2004 Republican National Convention, which was held in New York. ...
According to the documents, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jay-Z, LL Cool and Alicia Keys were all put under surveillance in the months before the 2004 Republican National Convention arrived in New York.
I believe we were the first to report a tracklisting for the CD in the Sephora exclusive gift set, but they have put out a press release now revealing that only 3,000 copies of the CD will be produced. So, if you want it, you should probably go out and get it or order it from their site.
As we talked about on May 4, the "Ride Out" mini movie is compromised of the videos for "Hickory Dickory Dock", "Get Low", "Take it Off" and "Stand Up". Watch it below.
We've already reported an official tracklist back in January as well as a majority of production notes last June, but Jordan's MySpace has some additional background info about tracks on the album.
The outcome of this collaboration is Just Watch Me, a rock ‘n’ roll anthology that delivers universal truths about everything from confidence and friendship to heart break and love. The album kicks off with the defiant title track which taunts detractors over a symphony of electric guitars with lyrical will power as she belts: “Not afraid of working hard/and there’ll never be a guarantee/but I believe I can be anything I want to be/No matter what you say/just watch me/I’ll do it/no matter what you say/I’ll do it/I’m flying no one is gonna clip my wings/just watch me/just watch me/can’t stop me!” Then there’s the equally spirited inspirational “Life’s Open Door,” which encourages one to be a risk-taker and explore limitless opportunities by pursuing his or her dreams while the mid-tempo, empowering anthem “Unnoticed” serves as a declaration to keep it moving after a heart break, because what your ex didn’t see the next person will. “Rock ‘n’ Roll Girl,” McCoy’s tribute to her mentor and big brother Diddy, addresses the unlikely partnership of two people from two different backgrounds coming together in perfect harmony. “I think Diddy and others wondered if a hip hop boy and a rock ‘n’ roll girl could actually work,” she says. “But we made it happen.” The album continues to fire up girl power with the track “I Don’t Need Boys,” which discourages relationships for the sole purpose of monetary gain and promotes chivalry and female independence. And McCoy flips the script with the candid breakup anthem “Next Ex-Boyfriend,” but expresses vulnerability with “On Saturday Night, (11:27),” that evaluates the hindsight of infidelity. A funky, rocked-out upgrade to Belinda Carlyle’s 1990 chart topper “I Get Weak” adds a bit of nostalgia while the sentimental ballad “Promise Me,” begs for a love that stands the test of time and distance. The encouraging “Always Friends” is a tribute to the maturation of friendships.
A new (different from the one released previously) cover for the "Just Watch Me" single has been released. See it below.
I've got an e-mail in to get an official yes on this. Do I like this one better? I guess I would have to say that I do. I'm still not a fan of that rainbow text, though.
Update: This is the official cover.
From BET.com:
While he’s no longer signed to Bad Boy, Thomas says things ended amicably with Combs. “I never had any personal problems with Puff. I just felt like I was really pacified there. We started to bump heads creatively in the studio and I didn’t want those differences to reflect itself in the music,” he says.
According to SOHH.com, producer Emile did a track for Aasim's upcoming debut called "Temptation".

Sephora is offering a Sean John Unforgivable Multi Platinum Gift Set that includes the fragrance and a 2 track CD. The tracks on the CD are:
1. "Last Night" featuring Keyshia Cole.
2. "Come to Me" featuring Nicole Scherzinger.
So, nothing new, unfortunately.
On May 17, from 6 to 8 PM, select Sephora stores will be holding a listening party to promote the new Sean John Unforgiveable Multi Platinum fragrance. The stores are located in Santa Monica, CA, Arlington, VA, Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, San Francisco, CA, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Troy, MI and King of Prussia, PA. See the flier below and their website.
It appears that you can listen to the title track of the upcoming Boyz N Da Hood album on the Fatboi (producer of the track, apparently) MySpace.
Cassie posted a blog entry mentioning that she's been in the studio working on her second album. She posted a song called "Sometimes" (featuring a rap from Ryan Leslie) on her MySpace, but mentions that it may not make the album and is not, necessarily, the direction that they want to go in.
Listen to it at AllHipHop.com.
UrbanBridgez.com has a review of "Don't Talk, Just Listen. From this review, we can get an idea of the tracklisting. As follows:

3. "Incredible"
4. "In My Bedroom"
5. "Got It Like That"
6. "Right 2 Left"
7. "Things I Do For My Girl"
8. "What It Do"

HHNLive.com has an interview with Aubrey O'Day.
Q: Do you dig the name of your group, Danity Kane? A lot of people had some things to say about the name of the group.
Aubrey: Yeah we love the name; it wouldn’t be our name if we didn’t love it.
Q: You know how it is.
Aubrey: [Laughs], we actually had a talk over the name and we do like it.
OhSoB5.com reports that the video for "Hydrolics" will be featured on BET's Access Granted, airing May 30.
From an interview with ODB's mom:
AllHipHop.com: You know, I was watching the Grammy incident last nite. He was very calm and professional when he took the mic…
Cherry Jones: Rage Against The Machine said, “Wouldn’t nobody do it but Dirty.” They said they loved it! I said, “All of y’all are stupid.” I said it [to Dirty] “It wasn’t nice of you to do that, either. Don’t you ever do that again in your life. I’ll tear your head up.” [Laughs] He was sober, you know…
AllHipHop.com: Really?
Cherry Jones: Really. On the way there, a limousine came and picked us up. He stopped at almost every corner and bought little bottles of water. He had nothing to drink that night. Nothing at all. So when he went up there, I felt bad, but I said “At least the boy is sober.” Puffy’s people had him hemmed up by the neck. His henchmen ain’t gonna hem up my doggone son. I said, “It’s time for me to fight.” He said, “Calm down mommy, everything is gonna be okay.” If Rusty don’t wanna fight, you know he’s sober! His bodyguards had him by the throat down there because of the comment he made: “Puffy’s good, but Wu-Tang’s the best.” After seeing him like that, I said, “Boy, he really need a drink!” [Laughs]
You may remember back in March, I wrote:
Diddy was on 106 & Park today to talk about Biggie and "Greatest Hits" and what have you. He did drop one bit of really interesting news - they are going to do a concert on Biggie's birthday (May 21) to celebrate his life and "everybody is going to be there." He said "hopefully" it would be at the Garden and to stay tuned. So... we'll see. Whatever they do, please sell a DVD for it!
Well, we're 9 days out and there doesn't appear to be anything planned, so I guess that isn't happening. I have an e-mail into Bad Boy to see if they have anything planned.
I just received an updated release schedule, but there are no changes to what we have now, except that Mario Winans and Danity Kane are not listed as having a date anymore, which doesn't really mean much since those dates were probably really loose, anyway.
From TeenHollywood.com:
Sean 'Diddy' Combs closed down a popular Burger King restaurant in Van Nuys, California last night to shoot footage for a new DiddyTV Internet show.
Listen to it at AllHipHop.com. The song has been around, but I think the Young Jeezy verse in the middle is new.
Here are Bad Boy's positions on the most recent Hot 100 chart:
13. "Last Night" by Diddy (same as last week - this one has been holding strong).
Also worth mentioning is the Yung Joc featured T-Pain single "Buy U A Drink (Shawty Snappin') which is back up to 3, it's high.
Here are Bad Boy's spots on The Billboard 200:
109. "Press Play" by Diddy (down from 96).
144. "Greatest Hits" by The Notorious B.I.G. (down from 126).
198. "Ridin High" by 8 Ball & MJG (down from 171).
From Crain's New York Business:
For the first time the title of the top-selling new fragrance of the year has gone to a scent for men. On Tuesday Sean "Diddy" Combs' new scent, Unforgivable, was officially crowned the No. 1 fragrance launch of 2006 by trend tracking firm The NPD Group Inc.
They've been tracking it for 10 years and this is the first time it's happened. That's pretty cool. It's been a huge success.
Via Arboga at BadBoyForever.com.
Jim McMahan (B5 management) posted last week that the video for "Hydrolics" will be shot on May 15. He also announced the following B5 performances:

According to Video Static, Dr. Teeth will direct the video for "Everybody Know Me". Dr. Teeth has directed many videos, including The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Spit Your Game".
Fabolous and DJ Clue will be appearing (not performing) at the Sean John store on Fifth Avenue on May 14 from 6 to 8 PM. If you buy any Sean John eyewear or $100 worth of Sean John stuff at the Sean John store on Fifth Avenue between now and May 14, you will be given a ticket to the Sean John Fabolous Party at Stereo (club in New York) later on the 14th. Supplies are limited, so if you want to get in, go buy something sooner rather than later. The promotional fliers are below.
This interview is over a month old, but it's the first I've heard of it.
HHC: Currently, you’re spending a lot of time in New York, working with Cipha Sounds.
We’re working on all kinds of projects. One of our main ones is this kid from the Bronx by the name of Daytona; a very talented kid. He has a single out now featuring Jim Jones called “ Homeboy What You Lookin’ At.” Our other big project is Nina Sky. We did 5 songs for their new album called The Musical. I don’t think people understand the music that these girls are coming with now. I’m really excited about the project. We’re also working with an artist by the name of Lil’ Eddie and also Thara, this girl from Jersey. Those are the in-house projects that are signed to Jack Move, Cipha Sounds’ company. We’re also doing work for Rick Ross’s crew – Carol City Cartel. We also did a joint with Lil’ Wayne for his new project as well as Elephant Man who’s signed to Bad Boy. Diddy and Busta jumped on the track as well.

The video for "Take it Off" has also been released. Watch it below (again, not loading well for me here).
Watch the video for "Stand Up" below. It's not loading very well for me at the moment.
HipHopGame.com has an interview with 8 Ball to go along with it.
Do you have any regrets over how "Ridin High" was handled?
Yeah, on everybody’s part. On me and MJG's part, on the label's... Everybody could have done things a little different. Yeah, I have regrets, but shit, we live and learn. ...
Will Eightball and MJG be going independent for the next album?
We'll have to see. Only time will tell, my friend. Only time will tell.
From AllHipHop.com's Rumors section:
This has been another floater which I believe isn't far from the truth. Lil' Kim might drop from Atlantic Records and negotiate a venture/artist deal with Baaaad Booooyyyy. We already know that she's been in the studio heavy with Diddy as of late and earlier in 06' she aired out her hatred for Atlantic and would be shopping for a new deal soon. Could be, Could not....only time will tell
Heavy stress on RUMOR as always, folks. Would I like to see it? Sure. Does it make any sense to me? No. Why? If she wants so bad to get off Atlantic, why would she sign with Bad Boy/ Atlantic?
At any rate, I have contacted her publicist, requesting comment and I will report that, if I get anything back.
Update: I heard back. "No comment."
From Yahoo! reports that Diddy will be performing at "Concert For Diana" at Wembley Stadium on July 1.
Other performers include Tom Jones, Nelly Furtado, Will Young, Roger Hodgson, Elton John, Joss Stone, Lily Allen, Kanye West, Duran Duran, Status Quo and Take That.
Details are sketchy right now, but I've just had it confirmed to me that Black Rob has been released from jail.
WMG has reported their second quarter revenue and the news isn't good as they lost more than expected.

The world's fourth-largest music company reported a fiscal second-quarter net loss of $27 million, or 19 cents a share, compared with a loss of $7 million, or 5 cents a share, a year earlier.
From Billboard:
Warner Music Group is planning a restructuring that will include company-wide layoffs totaling 400 staffers and place further emphasis on digital strategy and distribution, sources say.

The company plans to simultaneously invest in new initiatives, including more hires for its digital operations. On Monday, WMG said it was creating a new production division designed to develop and produce original programming for network, cable, DVD, broadband and mobile platforms.
As reported previously, the video's for "Hickory Dickory Dock" and "Get Low" debuted today. Watch the Get Low video here and watch the "Hickory Dickory Dock" video below. Warning: obviously... very, very explicit content.

According to the Bad Boy Publishing MySpace, Bad Boy writers will be honored at the SESAC New York Music Awards on May 10. But, I can't seem to find a specific list of winners. This is from the link above:
Among the songs from 2006 being awarded are chart toppers by Justin Timberlake, Mary J Blige, Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Pussycat Dolls, Diddy, Danity Kane, Keyshia Cole, Chris Brown and Bow Wow to name a few.
Here is the latest Hot 100 chart as far as Bad Boy is concerned:
13. "Last Night" by Diddy (same as last week).
And this is where the "Get Low" video comes in (even if that one was a rough cut and not the finished version). 8 Ball & MJG will be launching a 20 minute mini movie on MP3.com on May 11.
The movie, called "Ride Out", will be comprised of four music videos for songs from "Ridin High". In the first video "Hickory Dickory Dock", 8 Ball & MJG are in a ... uh... gentleman's club. This video will premiere on May 7 on SOHH.com. In the second video, "Get Low", the club is robbed. The "Get Low" video will premiere on May 7 on AllHipHop.com.
The third video will be "Take It Off" - this video will be after the robbery, them leaving and making it back to their hotel. It'll premiere on HipHopDX on May 9. The final video "Stand Up", featuring cameos from Bobby Valentino and David Banner, will premiere on HipHopGame.com on May 9.
The video for "30 Rocks" will premiere on Bad Boy Blog on... just kidding.
And then, as I said, the entire thing will premiere on MP3.com on May 11.
I have to say, this is a cool thing to do and it should be interesting to see.
Down-South.com has a review of "Back Up N Da Chevy".
Overall the Boyz N Da Hood definately have avoided the sophomore jinx. Pick this one up and add it to your collection. The Boyz N Da Hood brought it real hard on "Back Up N Da Chevy"
The good thing about this is that it allows us to get a better idea as far as a tracklisting. Here are the tracks mentioned (not in any particular order):
"Everybody Know Me"
"We Riden"
"Bite Down"
"Paper" featuring Rick Ross
"Table Dance" featuring T-Pain
"Back Up N Da Chevy"
"Jump" (interestingly, they say that this samples the classic Van Halen song "Jump")
"We Ready" featuring Yung Joc
"Nothing Promised" featuring Yung Joc
"Choppers" featuring Ice Cube
10 tracks is all they mentioned, but that doesn't mean that's all their is or is going to be, of course.
Via boyzndahood at BadBoyForever.com.
As I was reading this Diddy blog entry where he mentions that Snocap (basically, a service that allows labels to sell music online (including through MySpace by embedding their shop/player thingy)) is up on his MySpace, Biggie's and Danity Kane's. In them, you can buy tracks from "Press Play", "Greatest Hits" and "Danity Kane". And that's great and all.
But, what they should really do is to sell the tracks that they put on their MySpace profile. For instance, on Diddy's, sell the "Last Night" remixes. On Danity Kane's, sell that dance remix they have up. That would be a nice MySpace tie in and would generate more sales. Get it up as soon as they launch the song on MySpace. That way, you also get the people who want the latest - and you get the impulse buys. People listen to a song and... they can't buy it anywhere. So, they wait and wait and... they get tired of it (I don't, I'm that big a fan, but you know what I mean - Bad Boy is trying to capture new people as much as engage current fans).
I'd like to see that. I am thinking there may be some legal reason why it can't happen (I am going to ask and I'll report back with the answer if I get one).
This video (watch below) claims to be of a Cheri Dennis photoshoot for The Source (it says "Source"... but, I'm guessing that's what they mean). Should be taken as a rumor at this point.
Via Cheri Dennis at BadBoyForever.com.
Not a real new track (Bad Boy released it on the "Bad Boy Dance Mixes" CD promo a while back), but you can check it out at Danity Kane's MySpace.

Honestly, I am not sure where this came from or what it's background is, but it appears to be at least somewhat official (if only because 8 Ball & MJG did it on their own/for fun/whatever). Check it out.

From MTV News:
In 2007, Atlanta artists continue to prove their city's prowess as the Southern mecca of hip-hop, as they come through with more big hits than Alex Rodriguez. With new albums on the way from T.I., Joc and DJ Drama, MTV News decided to fill you in on the next invasion of ATLiens. Charts, beware.
Gorilla Zoe
With his gravelly voice and measured flow, Boyz N Da Hood's newest inductee, Gorilla Zoe, hopes to fill the shoes of departing member Young Jeezy and keep the movement moving, Menudo-style. Featured heavily on DJ Smallz and Block's mixtape Welcome to My Block 2, Zoe can also be found spitting alongside fellow Block Entertainment mate Yung Joc on his new single "Coffee Shop."
Next up: the video for "Coffee Shop" followed by BNDH's sophomore project, Back Up in Da Chevy, due August 7.

Here is the cover for the "Just Watch Me" single by Jordan McCoy.
This one caught me a bit off guard. I didn't think they'd go in this direction - partly because the song doesn't really fit it. The cover seems really pop (although, you could say they are establishing her mix with the different things in the picture - for example, wire bracelet = punk, Hendrix shirt = rock, bubblegum = pop... if you really wanted to analyze it, that is) where the song isn't what you'd call a typically bouncing pop track, it's more of an inspirational, dramatic type of song. That's my feeling, anyway.
We already knew Bad Boy was interested in him, according to him, but he mentioned it again in a recent AllHipHop.com interview.
AllHipHop.com: Speaking of, have Diddy and Nas contacted you?
Royce da 5’9”: I talked with Diddy while I was [writing for his Play album]. He likes me as an artist, and expressed that when I’m ready. he is interested in listening, but I wasn’t ready at the time. And Nas has made public comments about me, but he hasn’t contacted me personally.
AHH: Do you want another major label record deal?
Royce da 5’9”: I’m going to get one. That’s the plan with this album. We are going to finish it, shop it and find the right place for me.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing it. I'd be interested to see what he could come up with with a Diddy and Bad Boy influenced album.
RockPop Gallery has the story with the artist, Howie Green, who made the painting that was used for the cover of the "Unbelievable" Biggie tribute mixtape released in March. You can see a picture of Mick Boogie with Diddy holding the tape at at Mr. Green's site/
I always find it interesting when small personal projects, like my Biggie Smalls portraits, strike a chord with a public audience and go on to have life of their own. Being of a certain age I wouldn't exactly call myself a rap or hip hop aficionado - but I do know a great face when I see one and Biggie Smalls was one cool looking guy. I came across some photos of the Notorious B.I.G. when I was researching possible images for a mural project I was working on - a 30' x 15' wall of my album cover paintings. The mural, now located in Jacksonville, FL, needed to have a wide cross section of musical styles represented and I was looking for recording artists that were well known to most people. I found two vintage black and white promotional images of Biggie that reminded me of the kind of old school look that the jazz cats of the 1950s and the Blues guys of the 1930 used to have - "Cool" as they could possibly be. ...
Several days after the album came out I was very surprised to get a photo emailed to me by Mick Boogie of him and P Diddy holding the CD with my album cover artwork (see below). I have received several emails from folks who appeared on the album expressing their appreciation of the cover and Mick is having me do a very large version of the cover done that will be given to P Diddy to hang up in the offices of Bad Boy Entertainment."
