According to the press release:

Disney-MGM Studios will be the host site of the Walt Disney World Florida Classic "FAN DAY." The fun- filled day of Fandemonium salutes alumni and fans in town for the Walt Disney World Florida Classic and will get kicked-off at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17. This is the second year Walt Disney World Resort (WDW) has celebrated FAN DAY with its Guests and fans before the legendary football game between Bethune- Cookman College and Florida A&M University on November 18.

Guests will be greeted by a "tailgate party" featuring entertainment as they enter the park and Doug Banks of the nationally-syndicated, Doug Banks Morning Show, will serve as master of ceremony for the day's festivities.

The afternoon heats up as the award-winning rival marching bands, The Pride of B-CC and the Marching 100 of FAMU, demonstrate their showmanship and musical talents as they lead the Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade during Steppin' in the Park at 3 p.m. The Fandemonium continues later in the day when Bad Boy Entertainment Recording Artist Danity Kane (MTV's Making the Band 3) perform their new hit record, "Showstopper."

Not sure how old or new this is (it's recent, at least, as it's after the "Press Play" promo tour), but Aggie News Online has an interview with Ness (scroll down).

Q: Back to the tour with P.Diddy, what you like most about this touring?

E. Ness: It’s real hard-work man. With Diddy he’s a major artist, so his accomplishments reflect what he’s done and all the records he sold. He has a major campaign behind him and he got the key to every city. His day starts at 4:00 A.m., he does all the morning shows, visit schools and just make the people love him. He just loves the people and he’s just on the grind promoting this new album “Press Play”. I got the opportunity to be on it and he’s just making it pop-off like that. He works 24/7 around the clock and I can’t even keep up with him. By the time he gets ready for bed he might have to get up and do it all over again, so he’s lucky if he might get four hours of sleep.

He mentions that he is on "Diddy Rock" on Press Play. He is a credited writer on the track, so that is probably what he means.

Biggie was featured pretty heavily in the Holloween episode of South Park. Or at least, their ... comedic impression of him. Basically, the story is that you can summon The Notorious B.I.G. by saying "Biggie Smalls" three times while looking into a mirror. Not the most favorable impression, but there aren't really favorable impressions on South Park, I don't think. Cartman recites some song lyrics, as does another character. Had it's moments.

As was reported before, Diddy is in at #1 with 170,500 (171,000 overall). Yung Joc, the iron man, keeps going with another 12,000, giving him 788,600 in all, in at #76. Cassie is at #167, selling 5,600 copies (249,600).

Wow. "Come to Me" jumped again, up another 9 spots to #9 on the charts. "Show Stopper" fell one spot down to #13. "I Know You See It" fell 7 spots to #29. "Tell Me" debuts at #62. Also debuting is "Long Way to Go" in at #97. "Me & U" has finally fallen off the charts after peaking at #3 and staying on there for 27 weeks. Very nice run.

For those curious, that makes 9 singles that have charted on the Hot 100 this year for Bad Boy. That is T3rd for the best Bad Boy has had. The best year in that regard was 2001 with 11. 1997 would be 2nd with 10. And then 2006 would be tied with 1998 with 9. For anyone curious, the worst years were 2005 and 2002 with 2 each. For this count, singles were associated with the year that their album came out.

I received by Best Buy copy of "Press Play" today and when I listened to the bonus disc, I was surprised to find that "Get Off" is actually different from the previously circulated "Get Off" or "Gettin' Off". Although the credit is given to Sean C. and LV of Grind Music, Diddy doesn't say their names like he did in the previous version. In this one, he mentions DJ Booman, who appears to have produced it. Same words, but entirely different backing music.

Update: according to DJ Booman's MySpace, this is an official remix. You can listen to it on his MySpace. Except that the one on the bonus disc is a little different in that it has some new vocals. It doesn't say "Sean C., LV", it says "Booman", etc.

AllHipHop.com reports that "Press Play" will debut at #1:

The Bad Boy hit streak continues this year as label head Sean "Diddy" Combs' solo album Press Play lands at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart.

The disc moved over 176,000 units in its first week, besting releases from Evanescence (The Open Door), JoJo (The High Road), Dierks Bentley (Long Trip Alone) and Ruben Studdard (The Return ).

Congrats to everyone involved. You have to go all the way back for 1997 to find a year where Bad Boy had at least 2 #1 albums.

AllHipHop.com's Rumors section has this:

If you pay attention to the credits at the end of these shows, you will see that Diddy and Russell Simmons have been doing work in the TV world. In fact, they are making tremendous strides with stellar shows like "Run's House." I heard a rumor that Russ and Diddy are quite possibly going to take it to the next level. I heard they might be working on another label venture that will be based in Atlanta. So far, I have been unable to find information on this, so it could be a silly rumor. It could also be that base of power needed in the industry. Stay tuned…

Again, rumor, rumor, rumor... meaning, probably not true. But, I wanted to go ahead and mention it, anyway.

You can read it here.

Putting together Press Play has been a long process for P. Diddy. After relatively average sales for 2001’s The Saga Continues album, Diddy decided to focus on growing his other businesses (i.e. clothing line Sean John, record label Bad Boy records etc), taking a break, and even working on a dance album called Divided Souls with some of dance music’s hottest producers, which has since been put on the back-burner. ...

“A lot of time when you get somebody’s iPod, you’re shocked because you’re like, ‘this person listens to Coldplay, Tupac and Garth Brooks?,” he laughs. “People like all types of music and all types of things. You look at what’s going on in the UK in the underground hip hop, grime, garage, and drum‘n’bass scenes. I mean my iPod is full of things from dance music to movie scores to James Brown… there are so many things that are in my head. I wanted to be able to express all that without being all over the place, and still make it hip hop – that’s what I tried to do.

mp3.com has an interview with Pharoahe Monch. He mentions that Bad Boy offered him a deal and he also talks about "The Future":

mp3.com: OK. I've never heard another emcee copy your style verbatim, and [The Future] made me wonder if ghostwriting is something you've done often over the years?

PM: Nah. It's the first time I did it. One, because Puff called me in. He was like, "Yo, let me hear what you're working on." I played him some of my s***. He was blown away. I was like, "Wow. I didn't think he was going to respond like that." He played me the beats that he had, which was like Alchemist and Kanye and Denaun Porter and Havoc. And I was like, "Holy s***." Like, he has some real thorough beats. Being the psycho Scorpio that I am and knowing that he's a Scorpio, it was fulfilling to take the job to get to see what goes on behind the scenes of a mogul for my own crazy curiosity, you know.

mp3.com: And what did you see when you stared into that realm?

PM: The number one thing is there are lots of women. Number one thing is he appreciated my work ethic in the studio. But on the flip side, I appreciated his work ethic, period. Like, dude doesn't sleep. I never seen him sleep. I'm pretty sure he got sleep somehow somewhere, but.

Q. Were you surprised when Justin Timberlake came out with a record talking about bringing "sexy" back? Particularly since for years you've been talking about throwing parties for the sexy, being part of the grown and sexy, even mentioning in your Proactiv commercial that you were "preserving your sexy."

He performed. It was the best performance I've seen on the "Press Play" promo tour. He performed the first two verses from "We Gon' Make It" followed by "I Am (Interlude)". Very nice performance.

One thing I found myself thinking while watching it, is "How often is Clinton Sparks in a suit?" :)

As I was updating the release history page, there were a few things I noticed that I wanted to mention.

Aasim arranged a lot of Diddy's vocals.

D. Woods (from Danity Kane) is on intro vocals for "Come to Me." I believe she's the one saying "Relax your mind, let your conscience be free..." and "It's Bad Boy, b****".

"Everything I Love" is Kanye West's first production credit on a Bad Boy album.

It says that Betty Wright has "Intro Vocals" on "Last Night," but I don't hear any.

I just received the limited edition, so I wanted to talk about it.

Basically, it's a black, hard cover book with the Press Play logo on it. Inside are pictures from a photoshoot that tell a vague story. Diddy in the club, meets girl, they're into each other, they go back to his/her room (whatever) and... stuff happens... and then Diddy is praying. As a warning, there is slight nudity (the girl's butt).

After that, we have the album credits and then the actual CD. It's a neat thing.

Also, there is an insert. One side is an ad for Sean John at Macy's. The other side says that B5, Cheri Dennis, 8 Ball & MJG, Jordan McCoy and Boyz N Da Hood are coming soon.

You may have noticed that Hip Hop Galaxy is reporting that Diddy is "facing" a lawsuit from producers and writers that worked on Bad Boy projects. They list "Clark Kent, Easy Moe Bee, Lord Finesse, Buckwild, Carlos Broady, the Hitmen, Loon, Craig Mack, and Angela Winbush" as potential plantiffs. They cite a story at AllHipHop.com as the source.

The only thing about that is that I don't see a recent story on this. (If you see one and I missed it, please let me know). But, I do remember a story like this a while back, so I looked it up by taking the Lord Finesse quote from the Hip Hop Galaxy article and found it. Read it here. January 25, 2006.

Buckwild said back in June that there is no lawsuit out against Diddy.

So, what I am saying is that I believe they are reporting an old story as new and I have an e-mail into them.

A couple of notable things from 6 Degrees of Diddy:

- I guess they asked him what the "Bad Boy dream team" would be and he said he couldn't answer that. He said Biggie would be on the team and everyone would be back together, happy.

- He said "a lot of people think he was responsible for smoothing him out and putting jewels on him." But, Diddy says that much of that was Biggie's idea.

AllHipHop.com: Do you ever feel the need to isolate your kids from the evils of the game or business?

Diddy: No, they're up on everything. My kids ask me, "Dad, what's up with you and 50? What's really good?" I gotta answer all types of questions [like], "I saw you doing this. What's that about?" It also keeps me on point to watch what I say and helps me with my decisions. It also helps you see how big you are. We are their leaders, not just my kids, but all kids. 50's son was probably the same way, "What's really good? I thought that was Uncle Puff, what's good?" You just get to a point, we all that's in the game, its bigger than us. We gotta be laying down the foundation for everybody that's got to come after us.

I was watching the TRL interview yesterday when they asked him for a regret and he said that he regretted passing on Ludacris
Now, I know some people may use this to bash Diddy, but the fact is, people that do just don't know how it all works. This is the case for really every big artist, whether you're Biggie, Aerosmith, 2Pac, The Rolling Stones, Ludacris or... anyone, really. Very rarely do artists get signed by the very first person who sees them, without seeing anyone else. Everyone gets passed on. In a business, you say yes to some ideas and you say no to some ideas with the best foresight possible. But, sometimes, you say no to an idea that turns out to be good - or great. That's just the way it is, it's inevitable, especially in that industry.

So, he was all over the show and "Come to Me" came in at #5.

A few tidbits:

They asked him what was the last job he had that he didn't enjoy. He said he worked at a place called El Torito's. He wasn't even a bus boy, he was below a bus boy, cleaning toilets and cleaning up after the bus boys.

The first song he produced? Come and Talk to Me (Remix).

Last song he finished on the album? Partners for Life.

HipHopDX.com interviews Diddy:

HHDX: You are really utilizing the Internet with both a MySpace page and your exploits on YouTube. That gives the fans a lot of access into your personal life – has anyone overstepped their boundaries with a request of your time or tried to solicit you with their demo?
Diddy: Nah… no one’s really done that. You see… the beauty about the Internet is that I’ve embraced the medium with this album. But as I progressed into making the album, it grew into something more. I am a fan of the Internet and what it has to offer. And I am excited about the outcome. It started out as something that I wanted to do as a part of my marketing plan. But I have direct content that it is able to be access through the MySpace page and it is for the fans. They get inspired and learn from each other. What we’ve been doing is organic and it has turned out to be something really big and I am proud of what these ventures have meant for, not just me, but for the fans themselves. It allows me to really get in touch with the public. It gives me the ability to see what makes them tick and what they do and don’t like.

Nobodysmiling.com has an interview with Styles P. where he talks a bit about Diddy.

Nobodysmiling.com : Yeah. Do you feel like it's poetic justice that 50 is going at Puff now? You guys had your issues with Puff and 50.

Styles P : I'm good with Puff now.

Nobodysmiling.com : I know now but in the past, nah' mean?

Styles P : I mean Puff had a lot of trial and tribulations in his life, so, me, if I ain't fighting
with you. I don't wish no fight on you; you understand what I'm saying?

Nobodysmiling.com : OK.

Styles P : I only got beef with somebody when I got beef with em. Other than that it doesn't really-you
understand what I'm saying?

Nobodysmiling.com : Yeah I know what you mean.

Styles P : I'm the kinda n**** I don't wish jail on my worst enemy.

Nobodysmiling.com : Oh OK.

Styles P : Some s*** I look at and some s*** I don't look.

Nobodysmiling.com : I got you.

Styles P : Like, right now Im feeling Puff cause what he did for us he didnt have to do so, as much as I was a man and stated when it was a problem, I gotta state that he also gave back- he didn't have to do what he did.

Nobodysmiling.com : That's definitely true.

Styles P : So I gotta be a man on that side and respect that too.

lol. Of course he didn't have to give it to you, it was his to keep. But, that's not how it was played on the radio.

They have their review up.

This one's harder than you think. Many Hip-Hop enthusiasts see Diddy as an easy villain to blame for the commercial "setbacks" that rap music has endured over the past one and a half decades. With his latest album, Press Play (Bad Boy/Atlantic), Diddy is schooling his harshest critics in Hip-Hop Mogulism 101. This whole rap movement has never been about good versus evil. The same man who could unabashedly bring cheesy 80's remakes to living rooms across the world is the same man who could introduce you to one of the greatest lyricists ever to walk the planet.

Today they have two more Diddy songs in their audio player (Making it Hard and It's All About the Benjamins (Remix)) to go with the other (We Gon' Make It) they had yesterday, plus the link to video of a part of their interview. There are also Diddy advertisements around and their website title today is "AllHipHop.com: Uh Huh, Yeah" which would certainly seem to be a nod to Diddy. :)

According to AllHipHop.com's Rumors section:

Last night Diddy hosted a Black Party. Just to let you know, I was not there, but I did have some friends that were. I was informed that it was a seriously fun event. There was a key rule that some people forgot! If you didn't have on Black, you were assed out. I heard people were turned away at the door with only a few exceptions. Basically, if you saw a person inside without black, they were connected. I heard one of the people in charge of the list screamed on a door guy for letting an attendee in with a blue shirt. Little did she know, that guy was down with Jimmy Henchmen. The door dude took the tongue lashing from the chick like a man. Other than that, people were pretty cool except for a few people that were just trying to get in without credentials. They failed.

Inside was another story. There was a mix of old sounds, new sounds and Diddy's new album, Press Play - which is out today. (I like this album, by the way. Diddy took adult Hip-Hop to a new plateau with the dance tracks, the hardcore rap joints and the relationship rhymes.) Now, from what I was told, the party was pretty hot. Some people that were there included Kanye West, Peedi Peedi, Babs, Cassie, Black Buddafly, Fat Man Scoop, Cheri Dennis, Ness, Dougie Fresh, Magic Johnson, Nicole from ANTM, Lyor Cohen, Tommy Davidson, Kevin Liles, Julissa, Terrence J & Rocsi and probably more than that. Diddy wasn't drinking Cristal either.

Soundslam has a Diddy tribute sort of piece up that's worth a read.

Press Play will hits stores ten years after Diddy's debut No Way Out. Think about that for a second. Ten years! In the music business that's a lifetime. We've seen countless artists come and go over that time. We've seen stars burn out and fade away, while Diddy's star is still shinning. And yes, like I wrote earlier, nobody regards him as the best lyricist, rapper, or songwriter, which only makes the length and breadth of his career more impressive. Many thought he would be a flash in the pan, a memory symbolized by a shiny suit found in a 1997 time capsule. He has managed to build an empire, and it looks like we will need a bigger time capsule.

- A community. I hope they have people actively moderating it.

Some sections, called "Be Seen & Heard", "Words of Advice" and "Diddy Pics" are coming soon.

AllHipHop.com has part 1 of their interview with Diddy:

AllHipHop.com: You mentioned staying in your lane...there have been instances with songs like, "Hate Me Now" by Nas and "My Downfall" by Biggie where you were angry. How have you changed or evolved since those days?

Diddy: As time goes on, I realize how powerful music is and its important to be honest on record, and it’s also important to put positive feelings out there. Because, whatever you say on record is most likely going to come true. That's how powerful it is. When I make music, I don't censor myself, but I try to make sure I pay attention to what I say and make sure I want that kind of energy out there.

Updating a previous story, I've located some more information on Myxx, thanks to commenter myxx fan.

Myxx has an official website. As you can see, no mention of Bad Boy. Ashley Phillips has an official site, as well. Again, no mention of Bad Boy. Both acts, as well as B5, are managed by Jamm Entertainment.

According to this fan site, the girls from Myxx and the guys from B5 are cousins. So, relation, same management, etc... that got them to Diddy's listening party and someone at the site mentioned in my earlier article could have assumed/mislabeled the photos on the site. I don't know with absolutely certainty, either way, but if they were on Bad Boy, they'd be trumpeting it, most likely and they're not, so there you go.

HipHopGame.com has an interview with Diddy:

On "We Gon' Make It," it has the same "Shaft in Africa" sample as Jay's "Show Me What You Got." Which version do you like better?

I like it both ways. I'm not in any competition with Jay. It's a strange coincidence, but that's the way God wanted it. It feels good to be on the same wavelength as an artist as great as Jay-Z. We used a lot of the similar producers on this album because they're our friends and people we've worked with. A lot of times great minds think alike. The girls are in the hospital and are trying to get better.
I just spoke with Aubrey and she has a mild concussion and a black eye.
Dawn hurt her shoulder and they all have whiplash injuries.
D.Woods was the only one not present.

The girls felt so bad about not being able to attend the club appearance and still wanted to show up. Clearly the doctor did not grant their wishes, he advised them that there is no way they can be in public right now. Doctor’s orders were medication and plenty of rest.

I'm sorry to hear it, but obviously, glad they are alright.

Atlantic Records has released a producer list for "Press Play":

When Bad Boy founder and CEO Diddy decided to return to the recording studio for his first solo project in five years, he also decided to recruit an A-list team of cutting-edge producers to turn his widescreen vision into a musical reality. With Diddy himself serving as both executive producer and hands-on producer for much of PRESS PLAY, he collaborated with a crew of studio innovators to capture the spectrum of sounds and styles that he wanted the album to embody and reflect.

Joining Diddy behind the board were such production aces as Kanye West, Timbaland, Just Blaze, the Neptunes, Havoc from Mobb Deep, Mario Winans, Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas, Rich Harrison, Danja, Big Boi, Rob Lewis, J-Dub, K-Def, Grind Music, and Jai.

According to MTV News:

"I don't want him to be popular on YouTube," Dorn wrote in an e-mail. "I don't want the reason that so many people come to YouTube be because of him, but that is the way it looks like it's going to be. [And] I know that many of the YouTube users would agree with me on that. He's pretty full of himself to think that by just 'buying' a channel and talking about his 'everyday life,' it makes him 'normal.' I think he should leave YouTube alone."

And there are plenty of users like Dorn, expressing their frustration in manners both increasingly bizarre (the U.K.'s BlackAdderExtras, who took Diddy's spot and turned it into a rather tedious house track) and disturbing (one rant, by a wide-eyed blond kid, borders on racist psycho-babble). But will the rising negative sentiments be enough to pull the plug on Diddy TV? ...

"We can't speak for Diddy, but we're thrilled that so many people have tuned in and taken notice, and we've found some of the parodies extremely creative and entertaining," a spokesperson for Burger King (who asked not to be identified) told MTV News. "YouTube is all about free expression, and Burger King wants consumers to continue to 'have it your way.' "

I considered whether or not this is newsworthy. I guess MTV considers it newsworthy, but I'm not sure that it is. When it comes to stars, we build people up to tear them down. There is a ton of jealousy out there and a ton of people who simply don't get it or have ulterior motives. In any case, let's talk about it.

Diddy is already popular on YouTube. In fact, that was a given. Diddy is an international superstar. It was a given that once he signed up on YouTube, he'd be popular on there because he is popular off there. You know Diddy, your Mom knows Diddy. Everybody knows Diddy.

In this day and age, there is sadly an increasing amount of people who lack respect for the rights and work of others. YouTube needs to make money. And lots of it. The fact is, one of the reason YouTube can exist for anyone to upload videos of themselves is because of people like Diddy and companies like Burger King. They support YouTube by spending their ad budget and generating ad revenue themselves. So many people these days think websites just need to earn enough to keep themselves up. That is so disrespectful. Websites need to earn enough to pay those who work on them. And not just pay them, but pay them well and, at least for the people that own the company, make them rich, if it's feasible.

One part of this is certainly drawing attention to one's self. Some of these people who are criticizing Diddy for using YouTube in a promotional fashion are getting quite a bit of attention by criticizing him. Coincidence? Perhaps, for some, but I would say that others are certainly doing it in order to draw attention to themselves. i.e. it is a form of promotion, the very thing they are criticizing Diddy for.

Another issue is the sense of entitlement that some people have. Who died and left these individuals in charge of who can use YouTube? Diddy is just another person, albeit a famous one, but why shouldn't he be able to sign up and use it in a promotional manner like so many small companies and websites do? Why the discrimination? There is absolutely no valid reason. As far as Diddy acting excited about the BK deal, have you ever read a press release? They assume interest and they express details in an upbeat manner. When you make a deal with someone, that is how you announce it. Positive, upbeat. Or you wouldn't have made the deal. Who cares what anyone else may or may not be interested in? That's not the point. I'm not interested in 99.9% of the stuff that is posted on YouTube. But, that .1% is great. And that's not a slight on YouTube. The point is that it offers variety and everyone likes different things. I would guess that goes for most people in the world. But, do I go around saying they can't post it? No. That'd be wrong.

Darian Phillips, a sophomore, told Diddy he wanted to be a businessman. When asked about his GPA, Phillips laughed and said it was “above a 2.0.”

“I was like, 'Oh my God, it's Diddy,' ” Phillips said. “I'm going to try and raise my grades. I want to be like him.”

I cannot tell you how many times I have seen "Keisha Cole" in copy released by Bad Boy, Atlantic Records and related entities. In the most soul-baring, confessional interview of his career, Bad Boy CEO and recording artist Diddy reveals never talked-about details of his life on "Black And White: A Portrait Of Sean Combs." Directed by award-winning filmmaker Derek Cianfrance and shot entirely in black and white, the extraordinary television documentary will premiere October 19th at 8 pm ET on BET.

"Black And White" was filmed in the course of a single interview that took place between 12 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on July 22, 2006. It features Diddy alone on camera, as he frankly exposes for the first time his most intimate recollections and candid feelings about his remarkable life. Emotionally gripping and visually riveting, the film captures Combs openly reflecting on such subjects as the murder of his father, the loss of his virginity, the death of his closest friend Biggie, the tragedies that have surrounded him and the dreams that he has made reality.

"Derek brought things out of me that I had never spoken about publicly before," says Diddy. "We talked for hours that night, until the sun came up, and it became very much about the raw emotions I was feeling and the thoughts I had never expressed. It was one of the most powerful and moving experiences of my life."

It should be an interesting program for fans.

From SFGate.com:

But the show was far from somber. Lil' Kim, performing for the first time since being released from jail earlier this year, donned sweats as she, Remy Ma and Da Brat took the stage to honor MC Lyte. Diddy, Fabolous and Q-Tip channeled early Beastie Boys circa the late '80s.

Nah Right has a picture.

That should be awesome.

Sister Souljah, Executive Director of Daddy's House Social Programs, will be speaking at the University of Tennessee tonight.

“She will be mostly speaking on African-Americans’ roles in the university setting,” said Brown. “But she’ll be speaking more towards African-American women especially since her two books, ‘The Coldest Winter Ever’ and ‘No Disrespect,’ were geared towards African-American women.”

Well, "Tell Me" is the second single for "Press Play". And "Last Night" is supposed to be the third. But, an article at MTV News mentions:

Erick White just directed the video for "Tell Me," which should be out soon. There's also a split video coming for "I Am"/ "Everything I Love" and "Diddy Rock" may be getting its own clip too.

Diddy has said before that "Press Play" will be his final album. But, in an article at MTV News, he leaves the door open:

"To be honest, I would love for it to be the last one," he said. "My first couple of albums talked about drama, death, tragedy, controversy — ups and downs. This album is about love. I would love to end it on a note of love. I don't want to overstay my welcome. I ain't never been a cat to overdo it; I don't want to overdo it now. I feel like I'm at my best on this album. It makes people feel good when they hear it.

It appears that that may be the case:

The techno-infused style of Afrika Bambaataa and the punk spin of the Beastie Boys were also acknowledged, as were gangsta-rap pioneer Ice Cube and entrepreneurial wizard and Def Jam founder Russell Simmons, who was introduced by one of his more famous pupils, Sean "Diddy" Combs.

LatinRapper.com has an interview with Pitbull. He talks about Bad Boy Latino.

The label Bad Boy Latino made a lot of news when it was announced that you were involved, but we haven't heard anything lately. What's the present situation?

Present story with that, basically what I do for them is like nonexclusive consultant. If I want to bring them an artist, or whatever. But they're launching their first artist now, Emilio and Diddy, named Christian Daniel. You'll be hearing about the kid, he's got great music. As far as everything that went on there, I got an opportunity to work with two men that I idolize, honor and respect as far as business. There were just certain ideas where we didn't see eye to eye. I just said, other than us bumping heads, why not just do it like this. That's the situation I got myself into with Bad Boy Latino.

So you're sort of an A&R?

Not an A&R... Yeah, I guess you can call it that.

"It's hard not to become friendly with Jacob," said Diddy. "He's a cool cat."

"He's an incredible salesman. He knows how to charm the shit out of his clients and treat them with respect," added Busta Rhymes. "The charges are a bunch of b*******. Anybody that affiliates themselves with people that are from the street, they always go the extra mile to investigate them. At the end of the day, why would Jacob come this far, purchasing a $12 million building on 57th St. - why would he do anything illegally?"

"A lot of the writers, cause I'm such a perfectionist, were tired of me just saying, 'Nah, I don't like that, I don't like that...It's like, 'Why don't you try it so you can see how hard it is,'" added the mogul. "So a lot of things I was coming up with were getting ripped up and thrown out. It was a crazy exercise for me and really helped me get to another level. You can hear, I think in the vocals cause it's another level of belief in what I'm saying."

Monsters and Critics.com has an article on Diddy and Press Play:

"I`m so excited about this record," Combs gushes. He pops an unmarked CD of rough mixes into the stereo system but still can`t get it to work. Julie Greenwald, president of Atlantic Records Group, who has been one of Combs` biggest champions since he brought himself and his Bad Boy label into the Warner Music Group (WMG) fold last year, jumps up and pokes him in the ribs. "Give me that," she says with a laugh. "What, first time with a stereo?"

Finally the music starts. Combs dances around the trailer, rapping over the tracks. He picks up Greenwald and swirls her around the trailer. "We did it, girl!" Then he pauses. Greenwald sits back down on the couch. "I hope people like it," he says sheepishly. "Do you think they will?"

AllHipHop.com talks about Press Play:

VERDICT The Queen Bee was in the house and Puff got to talking...and talking some more. Word is this was only about half the album. We didn't even get to hear the joint with Cassie ("Come To Me"). As we dipped he played "Special Feeling" and it sounded like some spacely Prince in purple drag music. The verdict; more hate because Mr. Bad Boy sounds like he is about to win, again. Take that.
