It's been a long time since Bad Boy released any information regarding Ness. Since I've covered them, Bad Boy has never done a good job of communicating comings and goings at the label.
But, here at Bad Boy Blog, I tend to maintain coverage until we receive some sort of confirmation. When all parties are silent, I try to maintain coverage because, even if there is a long period of silence, it's not for me to say who is and isn't affiliated with the label.
Recently, Ness participated in a freestyle battle and some of the coverage referred to him as a former Bad Boy artist. So, I thought that it might be a good time to revisit this again, especially since the rapper is active on Twitter again.
I reached out to him today and he confirmed that he has been officially released from Bad Boy. Best of luck to Ness in his future endeavors.
Ness recently appeared on Batcave Radio, on Philadelphia's 100.3 The Beat radio station, to promote his upcoming battle with Arsonal. Watch the clip below for a freestyle from Ness.
Ness will battle New Jersey rapper Arsonal on July 24 in Philadelphia, according to a flier posted on Ness' Twitter profile. You can purchase advance tickets at pcradiolive.com, though that link is currently down for me. Watch a pair of trailers for the battle below.
In the clip below, Ness announced that he would be releasing an album of material he recorded with music producer and rapper 9th Wonder, titled "The Lost Tapes."
In the clip below, Ness mentioned that he had a "Matrax" album available on iTunes. I looked it up and found that he released the album digitally with DJ Pillzbury in December, followed by a CD on demand release in February. You can pick up the digital copy on Amazon.com and iTunes and the CD on demand on Amazon.com. You can listen to snippets at all of those links, as well. Farther down, check out the cover and full track listing.
