"Any Flo Rida song will get you excited, will make the club move," he said, in reference to The Rock's choice of music. "But, I heard Machine Gun Kelly's 'Invincible' and I wanted to fight somebody. To me, music that gives you that much motivation and energy... you can tell he's hungry and I think that's when your true love for hip-hop shows, when you're hungry enough to put your heart and soul into a track, into a record."
"I met this kid in person," he continued. "The music does him justice. He is hungry, man and he's gonna be at WrestleMania and I'm happy for him. Hopefully, he can keep the momentum going."
On Sunday night, the WWE's WrestleMania 28 was held in Miami. As previously reported, Machine Gun Kelly was on hand to introduce John Cena by performing his song, "Invincible."
But, there were a couple of surprises. Diddy came out to introduce the rapper and MGK was accompanied by Skylar Grey to perform the book for "Invincible." You can check out some photos on WWE.com.
Diddy and Cassie both shared a free download link for the Kanye West remix to Cassie's "King of Hearts."
It is worth pointing out that this mix is a little different from the one that Bad Boy serviced directly to DJs and online outlets on Friday. There are some subtle adjustments and it is about 21 seconds shorter. Listen to the version Diddy and Cassie linked to below and the other one in our audio player.
I started Bad Boy Blog because, as a fan of Bad Boy Records, I wanted a source of news and information that took a responsible approach to reporting. That's what Bad Boy Blog is. We're not a gossip site and we don't share illegal downloads. I take this very seriously.
Machine Gun Kelly has decided he will no longer use shoe laces, according to a source close to the rapper.
One might wonder why this is news because, of course, there are plenty of shoes without laces and MGK is free to wear whatever he wants.
What makes this a story is that "Lace Up" is Machine Gun Kelly's popular catchphrase, a constant in his music and, really, wherever you see him. The #LaceUp hashtag on Twitter is regularly used; it is even in his Twitter bio at this very moment. #LTFU, short for "Lace The F*** Up" is another frequently featured hashtag.
"Lace Up" was also the title of his breakout mixtape and he has said that his debut album on Bad Boy will have the very same title. While the phrase has a meaning beyond shoe laces, it has been visually tied to them and, admittedly, it is hard to lace up when you don't have any laces to begin with.
To address this disconnect, the source said that MGK will debut a new term later this month, a term that will serve as his new album title. He'll slowly transition from "Lace Up" to this new phrase and be fully behind it by the summer.
If you're familiar with French Montana, chances are that you've heard him say "Coke Boys" before. In his music, in interviews and elsewhere. The Montana led group features Flip, Cheeze, Chinx Drugs and Charlie Rock. In addition, on the Billboard charts, the rapper's songs are listed under Coke Boys/Mizay/Bad Boy.
The Coke Boys label is about to go a little farther as Montana has signed an endorsement deal with Coca-Cola.
As part of the agreement, he will release a Coca-Cola inspired song, aptly titled "Coke Boys," which will be featured in a television and radio campaign. Once Montana drops his "Excuse My French" album this summer, Coca-Cola will serve as the presenting sponsor for his tour when he goes on the road to support the album.
According to a source close to the negotiations, talks stalled when Coca-Cola executives grew bewildered by Montana's use of the word "Coke" and in determining whether or not he was implying a positive association with their beverage or with cocaine. A call from Diddy is said to have helped finalize the details.
Company executives, Montana and Diddy will all be on hand when the deal is officially announced later this month at a press conference in Atlanta.
