Bad Boy Online has been updated. As far as release dates, Cheri Dennis' album is given the ominous "coming soon" with no date. 8 Ball & MJG are August, Cassie is August 8, Danity Kane is August 15 and Diddy is September. I think that may already be outdated, though, as I just read an article that said Diddy's album is in October now.

Cassie is featured on the homepage below the "features" bar. It links to her You Hear It First segment on Overdrive.
Neat article at VIBE.com by Nova Slim:
Sean Combs is probably laughing at me right now. He told me he wouldn’t stop, and instead of believing him, I pretty much cringed at his tenacity. ...
The Bad Boy hitmaking machine has been reinvigorated, and people like me are eating crow.
If you get this on your digital cable, you can check out Music Choice on Demand for a performance and exclusive footage.

From Billboard.com:
Diddy, who will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year, noted that his own album is now due Oct. 3 and will bring people back to the dance floor. He also declared that the album will be his last as a solo artist and that he plans to "transcend into more movies."
B5 will be appearing at Fair Saint Louis on July 1 at 1 PM local time.

Finally was able to access the video of the performance.
Diddy did the scream live, which was pretty cool, I'd have to say. His vocals seemed off a little bit during Joc's first verse, but they got straightened out.
Overall, a good performance.
We've got our hands on a sample tracklist for Jordan McCoy's forthcoming debut album. Please note that this is not the official tracklist for the album, but a list of tracks that are being considered for inclusion onto the album. As far as I know, we're the first to publish information about most of these tracks:

This article mentions that Elephant Man signed a 3 album deal with Bad Boy and that his first Bad Boy album, "Ova Di Wall," is scheduled to be released in August. The articles says that Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Shaggy and Rihanna are "among the names said to be on the album."

In a video at AOL, there is a clip of Yung Joc rehearsing with Diddy for the BET Awards. So, I went to the BET Awards site and clicked on the "BET on Blast" graphic and they have a video available of the performance. Unfortunately, however, I cannot get the video to load right now. Will have to try back later.

I've never seen this video before, so I'm guessing a lot of people haven't. Nice flashback, nice video.

I was in the Roc-A-Fella chat event with Jay-Z a little while ago and he mentioned Diddy:
Q: Have you ever been in front of a crowd that did not respond to you?
A: Can you say Puff Daddy World Tour?
A: Haaaaaaa.
Just watched it. Not bad, don't know that I like it as much as "It's Goin' Down." Joc has two verses and then they switch to Dope Boy Magic for the final verse.
Cassie was in at #6, her peak on the countdown thus far (just her 3rd day on the countdown overall). Julissa also said that you might see her on the red carpet tomorrow for the BET Awards, so watch for that.

From the press release:

Adding to the glitz and glam of BET's most-anticipated show of the year, four-time BET AWARDS winner Missy Elliott and R&B songstress Fantasia have been added to the lineup, as well as Sheila E., India.Arie, Lloyd Banks, Yolanda Adams, Rah Digga and Papoose. The electrifying, live three-hour telecast of BET AWARDS '06 at LA's historic Shrine Auditorium will take place at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 (tape-delayed in the Mountain and Pacific zones).
From an interview at TIME.com:
TIME: You were under contract with P-Diddy to do some modeling. Are you going to continue with that?
WADE: Naw, I'm not going to do any of that coming up. Me and P-Diddy have a great relationship. He comes to the games and shows support so I'll always show support for him. That was kind of a one-year thing. But of course I'm gonna still wear nothing but Sean John gear when I'm off the court because they continue to send it to me.
AllHipHop.com has some quotes from Diddy related to his star on the Walk of Fame:
"We [Bad Boy] had to take our bumps and bruises and look at the Billboard charts," Combs noted. "I have two records in the Top Ten [Yung Joc's "It's Goin' Down" and Cassie's "Me & U"] and on the Rhythmic Chart this week [we have] the number 1 and number 2 records with Cassie and Yung Joc. You know, we are talking about 12 years later [since Bad Boy was founded in 1993]. There were times over the last few years, cats was counting us out it's a big week. God works in mysterious ways. It's a huge week to have the #1 and 2 and get a star on Hollywood [Boulevard]. I'm just grateful."
It looks like my guess was a good one (wasn't that hard of a guess). It's up at ISB.
From USAToday.com:
Rapper and producer Sean "Diddy" Combs, rock disc jockey Rodney Bingenheimer and TV host Barbara Walters have something in common.
They will join 20 other celebrities from radio, recording, theater, television and film to be honored in 2007 with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Congrats!

From MTV News:
Were the Neptunes fronting with "Frontin' "? That's what Peter and David Currin claim in a federal lawsuit filed in Connecticut on Friday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The songwriters say portions of their 1993 song "I'm Frontin' " were used in the Pharrell Williams/ Jay-Z track from the Neptunes' 2003 Clones album. The Currins allege that the lyrics, music and rhythm of their song — which they say they sent in demo form to Diddy — are "substantially similar" to the Neptunes single. Star Trak Entertainment, Arista Records, Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records, BMG Music and Bad Boy Entertainment are also named as defendants in the copyright infringement claim, which seeks damages, royalties and an injunction to prevent further distribution of the song.
Yung Joc and Cheri Dennis will be performing at the WEUP Black Arts Festival this weekend:
In past years the festival, held on the station's grounds on Jordan Lane, has hosted the likes of Lil' Romeo, Mike Jones and T.I. This year, organizers scored a coup with Yung Joc, who has the Billboard No. 1 hip-hop song, "It's Goin' Down." Read an interview with him on Go.3. ...
Other acts booked include Mila J, Cherish, Bohagon, J Shin, Rasheeda, Project Pat, Field Mob and Cheri Dennis.
They are set to close out the event with Cheri Dennis appearing on the Pepsi stage at 5:40 PM on Saturday and Yung Joc following her at 6:00 PM.
Urban Connects mentions that Yung Joc was the ninth best selling album this week, moving 69,880 units to put him at 218,412 overall.

Joc moved up 1 spot on the Hot 100 to number 3. Cassie remains at 8. Good stuff.
Just a rumor (... just a rumor), but AllHipHop.com rumors section is reporting:
50 CENT TO TAKE ON BAD BOY?
I’m not the only one with rumors. Aside from Maino, Vibe magazine also has some good ones. In the new issue, they say that 50 Cent might be preparing an all-out lyrical assault on Diddy and Bad Boy, because they haven’t been able to get their paperwork together with Ma$e. The source says that Curtis and Mason have completed the Harlem rapper’s debut G-Unit album, but can’t wriggle out of the legalities. Vibe’s VC says that Diddy wants a $2 million lump sum to get Betha out of there, but 50 isn’t willing to pay all that for the rapper-turned-preacher-turned rapper. I suggest they do a joint venture like G-Unit did with Freeway and Roc-A-Fella and we all get paid. I mean, they all get paid.
We'll see. I wouldn't be shocked. I liked 50 at one point, but I've slowly been turned off to him and if he does anything like this... well, I'll just continue in that direction. Who hasn't 50 gone at, really? Go to WikiPedia for a refresher. To name a handful: Ja Rule, Nas, Fat Joe, The Lox, Jay-Z, The Game... wait, all of those people are cool with Diddy and Bad Boy. (Well, I mean... yeah, Jadakiss likes to talk about throwing refrigerators around, but after Diddy gave them their publishing as a gift, they were all smiles). Between The Game being on Duets and working with Diddy, Ja Rule being on a Duets Bonus Track, Diddy generally being friendly with a bunch of people that 50 has or is going at, the crazy radio appearance where 50 said Diddy was "driving B.I.G. into the ground" and the Mase stuff, this doesn't seem that far fetched. But... whatever.

From AllHipHop.com:
Musicically, fans will be able to hear the rapper on upcoming remixes with Cassie, Cherish and Cheri Dennis as well as new singles from Trey Songs and Marques Houston. ...
Not one to leave a stone unturned, Joc addressed rumblings of a beef between him, Jeezy and D4L after the release of his single 'A Couple Grand,' saying there was no such issue when he did the song.
"No, I'm not dissing D4L and no I'm not dissing Jeezy. Just to let it be out there. You want to let it be known. I'm not dissin not a one of them n*****. I f**** with them n*****. Matter of fact. I just did the 'I'm Da Man' remix with Shawty Lo and Rick Ross."
I would guess that the remix with Cheri Dennis is "I Love You," the one with Cherish is "Do It To It" and the song with Marques Houston is "Like This." Not sure what the Cassie and Trey Songz ones would be. Is it possible that Joc is on the Bad Boy Remix of Me & U?

According to their official site, the album will be released in August. No specific date given. The album title has changed back to True American Pimpin' from Riding High. Personally, I prefer Riding/Ridin' High.
Check this out. Awesome to see the often used catch phrase on a Sean John shirt. Would like to see more of that!
Cheri did an interview with BallerStatus.net where she revealed some details about her album:
Ballerstatus.net: This new single "I Love You" is blowing up. Tell me about the new album and how you hook up with Jim Jones?
Cheri Dennis: This song is a real universal and infectious song, something everybody can relate too, which is why it was my first choice. It's not too heavy, a no brainer and the album is the same way. It's about love and relationships, but not real dark. No one's going to slit their wrists.
The Jim Jones thing came about because Jim Jones and Puffy have a relationship and he was around at the time at Daddy's House doing some stuff and it seemed like the smart thing to do. And he's a dope artist. We have Yung Joc on the remix and he is a sweetie pie and very talented artist. Ryan Leslie produced it and he's dope too. He did about three tracks on the album. My album is not a big change, it's hip-hop soul, but it's a refreshing voice and I think people need a change right now.
Ballerstatus.net: Who are some of the other producers and songwriters you worked with?
Cheri Dennis: I do write some of my own songs. Producers I worked with are Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins and Mario Winans -- some really dope producers and some known some unknown. For me, it's not about a name, it's about whether you're bringing the heat.
Ballerstatus.net: Are there any other features from hip-hop artists?
Cheri Dennis: No, other than Puff, Jim Jones and Yung Joc. It's really about the introduction of Cheri Dennis.
The Making the Band 3 girls have got a name: Danity Kane. Dawn draws some anime and she drew a super hero and gave her the name Danity Kane. Diddy liked it and so it shall be written.

According to Ross' camp, Rick has been close friends with Russell "Block" Spencer of Block Entertainment (the exec behind Boyz and Yung Joc) for years, and there has been talk about Rick officially being in Boyz N Da Hood. But no paperwork with Diddy or Ross' record label has been worked out, so everything is just done on love right now.
Boyz member Jody Breeze says that Ross is like a big brother to the group and will appear on Boyz's singles when they drop, but maintains that Ross is not an official member — just family doing a guest spot. Breeze also says to look for other guest spots from Lil Wayne and the Game when Boyz's next LP comes out in late 2006 or early 2007.
However it pans out, DJ Ideal and dem Boyz have put together a mixtape that heavily features Ross. For his part, Ross spells it out clearly in his rhymes: He's down with Block and the Boyz.

This is great to see. In the post, Ryan Leslie gives us a sneak peak at the Bad Boy Remix of Me & U. It features Diddy and at the end of the clip, you can hear Diddy rapping. Been a minute since Diddy picked up the mic and did that. Looking forward to it.
Of course, the Ryan Leslie/NextSelection remix can also be considered a Bad Boy Remix, being that he is a Bad Boy producer because that is the definition of a "Bad Boy Remix" (remix produced by a Bad Boy producer) as far as I know. Nonetheless, this is the one that will be branded as "Bad Boy Remix." Can't wait.

I've had a little time to listen to New Joc City now, so I thought I'd post up some quick thoughts. To keep it simple, I would say that a lot of the album just isn't my type of music or the type of music I would normally listen to. Nonetheless, there are some tracks in there that I like that have made it into my playlist. Those are New Joc City (Intro), It's Goin' Down, Do Ya Bad, I Know You See It and 1st Time. It's Goin' Down is my favorite at this point, I'd say.
So, what about you? What are your favorite tracks?

Everybody wants to sign Rakim. In the past year, reports surfaced that Talib Kweli showed interest in signing Rakim Allah. While the legendary lyricist ultimately opted to launch his Raw Records, he admits to being courted by the BK emcee. "We was speaking to them [Blacksmith Entertainment] for a while, good people. They were also getting tracks for me. Their situation at Warner was one of the ones we were looking at," Ra told SOHH.com. Kwe wasn't the only one trying to add Ra to his roster. Word is a few heavy hitters approached the God prior to him signing to Aftermath Records. "Puff wanted to sign me before I went to Cali," Ra revealed. "Master P wanted me to sign No Limit East. But at that time I was more concentrating on my craft, and I figured getting with Dre I won't have to worry about the beats. I can just sit back and do what I have to do."

All that crap talk about G-Dep has been proven false and I have to apologize for thinking it had some validity to it. I do have the deal with Dep though for those that want to know. First of all, he doesn’t even live in New Yawk anymore, much less homeless. He’s an up-top transplant residing down in South Carolina with his family – doing alright. On the real side, he’s had issues with his comeback and simply wants support from his label. I had The Deputy mixtape, but didn’t hear much after that. At any rate, keep your head up Dep and we’ll see you when you come back.

I saw Big Gee's name in that AllHipHop.com interview with Smitty:
Smitty: ... At the same time, I was a member of Face Mob - a group consisting of the legendary Scarface, Big Gee, Young Malice, and would be produced by up and comer, Jazze Pha. Face Mob was to also be signed to Roc-A-Fella, and while that was a cool situation, I knew deep down inside that I still wanted to make an impression by being a solo artist.
AllHipHop.com has an interview with Smitty. The Bad Boy related parts:
AllHipHop.com: If you were a part of Dr. Dre’s camp, how did Puffy come into the fold?
Smitty: I was staying out there in California, working with Aftermath and Dre. Meanwhile, I am generating a little bit of a buzz. Again, C-Love and Charlie advocated for me on my behalf. They tell Puffy about how much talent I had during his visit for the taping of Jay Leno, and he wanted to meet me. A few days later, I flew to New York and began working with Puff at Bad Boy. I was an instrumental part of songs such as “Shake Ya Tailfeather” featuring Nelly & Murphy Lee from the Bad Boys 2 Soundtrack and B2K’s “Bump, Bump, Bump.” ...
AllHipHop.com: You have had your share of “almost” and “could have” situations. How did you feel once you were finally signed to J Records?
Smitty: After all that has happened, I had an incredible buzz surrounding me. I was finally beginning to be noticed for the artistry that I exhibited beyond the writing. I was courted by a few labels including Bad Boy Records. However, I signed with J, because Clive Davis showed me the most genuine love. He understands what it takes to make an artist successful. He believes in artist development, but he also believes in actually putting you out an artist. Everything that has happened to me has only made me a stronger person, and if I had to do it all again, I would do things the exact same way.

The zillionaire megastar is looking for a massive mansion in London and has a pretty hefty budget for it – £30m!
“Diddy is keen to buy in Belgravia or Holland Park,” a blabbermouth estate agent tells FemaleFirst.
From Elle Magazine:
The green carpet was not without drama of its own. Taking advantage of being one of the last people to come into the ceremony, Sean "Diddy" Combs took his time, having the press line almost all to himself. And just as his Diddy-ness was pausing to make a grand walk up the stairs for the paparazzi, his former publicist Rob Shuter pushed Jessica Simpson up the stairs ahead of Combs, stealing his thunder. "Rob, don't do that," the rap impresario called. After literally being called on the carpet, there was a happy ending—Simpson and Combs posed together for the press.

Just finished watching it. He put on a good performance.
Before that, he came on and answered a few questions. The usual stuff, pretty much. He said that the first time he met Diddy, Diddy was eating, listening to the music, so he sat there nodding his head and eating and then he asked Joc to perform the record right there and he did and he said he was jumping on couches, etc. Diddy told him that he liked his attitude and that he was humble and to stay that way. The flashback joint was Bad Boy for Life, which Joc introduced.

Trina, Bryant McKinnie, Kid Capri, Jha-Jha, Hell Rell, Gravy, Benzino, Hell Rell and DJ S&S. No pictures of Diddy?
Yung Joc's performance on June 1. This time, ALL of The Lox are there pictured. What's up with that? Fabolous, Zab Judah, Kid Capri, Red Cafe, Young Gavin, DJ Clue? and others were also in attendance.
AllHipHop.com has a great interview with Buckwild where he talks about "I Got a Story to Tell" (Biggie track that he produced), praises Diddy's production talents and clears the air about the supposed lawsuit against Diddy about production royalties:
AllHipHop.com: What about “I Gotta Story to Tell” by Notorious B.I.G off of Life After Death?
Buckwild: Biggie had three beats to choose from. One of them was one that The Lox wanted also. That record ended up having sample clearance issues, and never came out. Then I come to find out that he chose the one to “I Got a Story to Tell.” Biggie was a dude that thinks about his lyrics first, no matter what. With the concept and everything he was like, “Cool, I could rock with that.” ...
AllHipHop.com: I want to build on that and ask you about your opinion of Puffy. What do you think about him as a producer?
Buckwild: PD, Mister Producer extrodinaire. He showed me and a lot of other dudes what a producer really is. He showed the part of production that most dudes never really knew, like, when you’re coming in and not even touching the drum machine. You’re shooting ideas like, “Yo, this needs to be like this,” and “No, you gotta do this like this.” He showed that part of production that dudes never really knew: You thought just because you made beats, you’re the producer? You’re not.
AllHipHop.com: It came out in the news recently that you and several other artists and producers have a lawsuit against him for royalties owed.
Buckwild: Alright. Let’s set this straight: There’s no lawsuit that’s out against Puff.
AllHipHop.com: Okay, what is it?
Buckwild: The only things that’s going on is that dudes haven’t been paid on a few albums. So, Warner Brothers is getting their books updated so everyone can get paid. I think what probably happened was, in the time that he left Arista, a lot of people weren’t getting their statements from that point on. [For me], it’s my part of Life After Death, part of Life Story and any albums that came out after that. It’s residuals. It’s just a matter of Warner Brothers getting everything updated so everyone can get paid what they’re supposed to. Knowing Warner Brothers, it should be finished in the next few months.
This is pretty neat:
Just after 11 p.m., [Assistant Principal] Randall briefly addresses the students before giving way to a radio deejay named II Face the Wild Boy from WKYS (93.9 FM), who summons Eastern senior Jessica Jones. Having won a contest through the station, Jones has been made up and fed and driven to the prom in a classic Rolls-Royce. But wait, there's more, the jock says. Something about a date for Jones, who came to the prom without one, having shared the ride in the Rolls with her good friend Charnice Robinson. "We've got a little somethin' somethin' for you," Wild Boy says. "Make some noise for Yung Joc!" ...
And so Eastern High's 2006 senior prom will go down as the night Yung Joc (pronounced "young jock") surprised the roughly 200 promgoers when he stopped by to perform the song that currently sits atop Billboard's national R&B/hip-hop chart. ...
... Wearing a Sean John T-shirt and embroidered jeans, along with thousands of dollars' worth of diamond jewelry -- a massive diamond crucifix, a diamond-encrusted watch, a diamond tennis bracelet, a diamond ring, etc. -- Joc says he's now performed at two proms this year, and he'd gladly do more. ...
Says Harve Pierre, the general manager of Sean "Diddy" Combs's Bad Boy Records, whose new Bad Boy South imprint is releasing Joc's album: "We try to do things like this if we can. Joc likes to reach out to people and get to the fans."
It reminds of the video for It's All About The Benjamins (Rock Remix).
You may recall that Wayne Rooney won a charity auction where he received a weekend at Diddy's mansion in New York and a night of partying with Diddy himself. Well, SundayMirror.co.uk is reporting that it turns out that Rooney is 20 years old - 1 year below the legal drinking ages in the United States. So, he's had to cancel it for the time being. He turns 21 in October.
Despite previous reports, Lil' Wayne will not appear on New Joc City. Joc and Wayne did do some tracks together, however. Where they will come out is undetermined at this point.
Ryan Leslie has the video.
She mentions that she is working on a track with Diddy for her album.
Yung Joc will be featured on the remix (produced by Don Vito) to Cherish's "Do It To It." They'll be shooting a video in two weeks.
That's what Rolling Stone is saying:
Ross can also be heard on the remix of Young Jock's "It's Goin' Down," ... Ross is in negotiations with P. Diddy to become the newest member of the Bad Boy Records rap-group Boyz N Da Hood...
There is a remix floating around with Ross, Slim Thug, Jody Breeze and Block (just talking at the end). But, I have been told that this is not official.
From her blog:
Well, the truth is, is that I did shoot a video for this song before. It was extremely low budget and it was before I signed to a label. Unfortunately that BAD video that’s going around, I felt like it scarred the very beginnings of a promising future. No matter my excitement while making the video, I was not thinking for Cassie. Before I had a chance to voice my opinion someone had leaked it in it’s raw form.
A bulletin from Yung Joc's MySpace mentions that he is performing on 106 & Park on June 6.
According to Billboard, Yung Joc's "Do Ya Bad" will be on the soundtrack for Waist Deep.

3 out of 5:
Corny brand-name drops aside, Joc does display vast potential, as evidenced by his Nitti-produced single “It’s Goin Down” and the rapid-fire “I’m Him.” But it’s the poignant “Picture Perfect” that reveals that there’s more to this young trapper than meets the ear. Backed by producer Lvis’ faint organ bed, Joc exposes the often-unseen ills of fame with succinct clarity (“N***** in these videos with these multiplatinum projects/Can’t even get a credit card and their mama still in the projects”). To raise New Joc City’s population, this Yungster needs to expand on such wisdom in the future.
According to AllHipHop.com's rumor section:
This one hurts. I am going to keep it real. An NYPD insider hit me up and gave me some sad information, which we will regard as flat-out rumors. The police-person said that they had a call about a delusional man in a NYC park. Word has is that man was none other than G-Dep, a rapper that was once down with Bad Boy. The word is, this man might have been on something that had him inebriated or high. The man did not know where he was or where he was going and he was basically out of it. He was arrested for something and thrown in a cell. Kind of sad, if it’s true. Kind of sad, if its false.
I would stress: rumor, rumor, rumor. But, wanted to mention.

In March, I mentioned that Diddy would be performing at the Essence Festival with "friends". Who they were, one could only speculate. Yung Joc says he'll be there:
Diddy is going to be hitting the stage for the first time in a very long time at the Essence festival in Houston. I’m going to be there.

There is a leaked Me&U video going around that features Cassie going from an apartment to a car to a club to an apartment with some guy. I'm not going to link to it because we do not support copyright infringement, which is what this is. You see, I was curious, so I spoke with the number one person in the know on this subject and he told me that this was a treatment (concept for a video) that was shot that they decided not to go with. They are disappointed that it has leaked and they have persued the people who have hosted this video previously (i.e. YouTube) and will continue to do so.
From MTV.com:
The often malcontented DMX still sounds a little bitter about how his relationship with Def Jam ended. During his recent trip to the U.K., he barked that today's Def Jam reminds him of yesterday's Bad Boy.
"Puffy — P. Diddy, whatever — when he signed the LOX, Dee from Ruff Ryders bought me to Puffy too and was like 'Yo, you got to listen to X,' " DMX recalled. "And [Diddy] was like, 'I don't know, his voice is kind of rough and he's not marketable enough.' A couple of months later, I got the Def Jam deal and [Puff] was like, 'Listen, whatever they gave you, I'll double it.' I was like, 'No, because if you didn't know what to do with me then, you ain't going to know what to do with me now.' And that's pretty much like [me recently leaving Def Jam]. I'm glad I was able to get out of that situation because it's clear they didn't know what they were doing."
