Block Entertainment Launches "Don't Block the Vote" Campaign:
Russell "Big Block" Spencer Creates Video Blog Series Aimed at Educating Urban Voters
Atlanta, GA: October 14, 2008-Russell "Big Block" Spencer, CEO of Block Entertainment, has launched the Don't Block the Vote campaign to encourage voter participation in the upcoming election on November 4th. The campaign is a series of weekly video messages covering various topics surrounding voting in the 2008 Presidential election including; registration deadlines, former felon eligibility rights, determining your polling location, and what not to wear to the polls. According to Big Block, "Don't Block the Vote is my way of encouraging my community to go to the polls and make history!"
The video blogs will simultaneously premiere on the Block Entertainment and Bad Boy YouTube Channels as well as the dedicated www.dontblockthevote.com site to be launched next week. Prominent urban entertainment site, SOHH Atlanta, will also be partnering with the DBTV efforts by co-premiering new webisodes each week on its homepage and blog. The weekly DBTV webisodes will create a forum to post comments on the video blogs, political debates, and numerous issues affecting the community. The first video premiered on Monday, October 6th, encouraging eligible United States citizens to register by their state's deadline in order to be able to vote. Each following video will premiere weekly on Tuesdays leading up to the November 4th presidential election.
The DBTV campaign will conclude on Tuesday, November 4th with transportation provided for local citizens of Atlanta to the polls, and a voter celebration event to be held at the Block Entertainment Studio.
Russell "Big Block" Spencer and Block Entertainment recording artist, Gorilla Zoe, showed their commitment to the cause by leading their community by example when both recently registered to vote at voter registration rallies hosted in Atlanta.
