The January 31 issue of Billboard contained this fun fact: the soundtrack for "Notorious" was the first soundtrack to reach number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart since November 2002 - which is when "Bad Boys II: The Soundtrack," also released by Bad Boy Records, accomplished the same feat. So, in the last 6 years and 3 months, there have only been two soundtracks that have reached the top of the chart - and they were both released by Bad Boy.
Not exactly earth shattering news, as Bad Boy writers work with Bad Boy artists frequently, but in the January 31 issue of Billboard magazine, there is a small feature on Bad Boy songwriter Makeba Riddick and it notes that "in the coming weeks," she will "return to the studio with Sean "Diddy" Combs."
Here are Bad Boy's positions on the most recent Billboard U.S. album and single charts, released today. As the "Notorious" effect wares off, Gorilla Zoe's "Lost" moves up a little more.
