In the video below, Brian Angel of Day26 reveals that he's named his new dog Ciroc - sharing it's name with the Diddy affiliated vodka.
Yesterday, we reported that group member Willie Taylor had said on Twitter that Day26 had shot videos for "Just Getting Started," "So Good," "Girlfriend," "Then There's You" and "Truth Is A Lie."
You can add "Perfectly Blind" to that list, as well, as he posted on Twitter that the video for the song was "really nice." It is unclear when these videos may start to materialize and become available online.
According to the Twitter of Willie Taylor of Day26, the group has shot videos for a number of tracks from their second album, "Forever in a Day," including "Just Getting Started," "So Good," "Girlfriend," "Then There's You" and "Truth Is A Lie." It's unclear if any of these tracks is their second single.
Previously, Qwanell "Que" Mosley of Day26 had said that "Your Heels" would be their second single, but nothing has been heard since then. A couple days later, there was a poll on their MySpace for the second single.
I don't have any information to pass on, but my guess would be that these might be web videos - like "Stadium Music" appeared to be.
Mesfin Fekadu of the AP talked with Day26 about the group struggles that were broadcasted on Making the Band 4, as well as "Forever in a Day."
"With the whole Danity Kane situation, that was like a shock. Well, of course we knew what was going on because we were on the inside, but they pretty much left their fans high and dry," Brian Andrews said in a recent interview.
Added Willie Taylor: "They kept their thing a secret, we didn't."
As we reported yesterday, The Boombox hosted today's premiere of the latest video from Day26's second album, "Forever in a Day." Check it out below:
This is better than I was expecting (given that the video premiere was announced days before it was actually happening). It's a pretty cool video. Despite the note included along with the video on The Boombox, I was told by a source at the label that "Stadium Music" is not their second single. From what I understand, it's primarily a video for the internet. So, definitely take it for what it is: a bonus video between their first and second singles.
Indeed, Qwanell "Que" Mosley of Day26 announced earlier this month that the second single would be "Your Heels.". Two days later, the group's MySpace featured a poll asking fans to vote on the second single. "Stadium Music" was not included on this list, while "Your Heels" was.
As of now, the results of the poll place "So Good" in the lead with 33%. "Your Heels" is second with 29%, followed by "Girlfriend" (16%), "Shawty Wats Up" (14%) and "Then There's You" (8%).
A bulletin from Day26's MySpace announced that the new video for their song, "Stadium Music," will be premiered on AOL's The Boombox on May 29 at 12:00 PM. They don't include a time zone, but I'd guess Eastern.
The all of a sudden release of this leads me to believe it's not what you might expect as a normal music video. Perhaps it is performance footage or a very low budget project. It is not their second single.
According to a bulletin from their MySpace, Day26 will be appearing at FYE in Dublin, Ohio on May 23 at 2 PM. The store is located at 5043 Tuttle Crossing Boulevard.
Day26 is featured on a new track from Saint Louis rapper Murphy Lee. Check it out below.
The nominations for the BET Awards 2009 have been announced and Day26 has earned a nomination in the Best Group category. The show will air at 8 PM ET on June 28 on BET.
