Qthequestion.com has an interview with Day26 (Brian and Willie). There nothing really newsworthy in it, but it's worth a look for Day26 fans.
Let's recap. In May, Qwanell "Que" Mosley of Day26 said that the group's second single from "Forever in a Day" would be "Your Heels." But, just two days later, a poll was launched on their MySpace where you were asked to help them pick their second single.
In June, Que came back again, saying that "Your Heels" would, indeed, be their second single. Willie Taylor also confirmed this on his Twitter.
At the start of the July, however, it was time for another poll on the group's MySpace. As I write, "So Good" is the present leader of that poll, taking 42% or 7,384 votes. And so it shall be done. I've confirmed with the label that "So Good" will be the second single from "Forever in a Day" and the video for the track will be included on the "Forever In Your Eyes" digital video collection that's being released on August 25.
Day26's MySpace revealed that the group will release "Forever In Your Eyes," a digital video album on iTunes on August 25. The album will feature the music videos for 8 tracks. It is unclear what the track listing is and I am trying to confirm the full list now. I can say, exclusively, that "Girlfriend," "Perfectly Blind" and "So Good" will be included, according to a source at the label.
Beyond that, we can see that, in the trailer (watch below), clips from the "Truth is a Lie" video are easily spotted. We also know that the group has shot videos for "Just Getting Started" and "Then There's You". Despite Qwanell "Que" Mosley of the group saying that the video for "Your Heels" was supposed to be shot on June 29, it never was. And, of course, we also have the videos for "Imma Put It On Her" and "Stadium Music." So, we have 5 possible known choices for the 5 remaining videos. They could always surprise us and throw in one or two we don't yet know about, of course.
It's unclear if the legal trouble associated with "Just Getting Started" will prevent that video from being included. Stay tuned for a track listing.
A pair of tracks allegedly by Robert Curry of Day26 have surfaced online. They are called "Rain Go Away" and "Shotgun" and they both certainly sound like him. It's unclear when they were recorded.
TMZ reports that Bad Boy Records, Atlantic Records and Christian "Davis" Stalnecker have been accused of copyright infringement and breach of contract by a singer named Kirby Shields for the Day26 song "Just Getting Started," which appeared on their April release, "Forever in a Day."
Stalnecker is the producer of the track (interestingly, Willie Taylor of Day26 received co-producer credit in the album notes) and Shields says that he signed a contract with Stalnecker to exclusively producer tracks for his own album, one of which was called "I'm Just Getting Started." If these allegations prove to be true, and judgment has to be reserved at this time, it would seem like the responsibility would rest with Stalnecker, for providing the group with a track he didn't have the right to sell them.
"The facts that we have confirmed indicate that Bad Boy Records/Atlantic Records may not have been aware of the Agreement [between Stalnecker and Shields] and may not have intentionally used the Song without authorization," the letter from Shields' counsel reads. At this stage, no lawsuit appears to have been filed and they are making all parties aware of the perceived infringement, seeking to open discussions with the parties - Bad Boy, Atlantic and Stalnecker.
Fox News spoke briefly with Day26. There's not a lot to the interview (they talk a bit about Michael Jackson), but there is also a video feature where the group performed a snippet of Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone." Check it out:
In a video on his YouTube channel, Brian Angel of Day26 paid tribute to Michael Jackson by performing an acapella cover of the singer's "The Lady in My Life," the final track off of the "Thriller" album. Check it out below.
Before the BET Awards, MTV asked Day26 which member has the best moonwalk. Check out their answers in the clip below.
Day26 members Qwanell "Que" Mosley and Willie Taylor have previously confirmed on Twitter that "Your Heels" will be the group's second single from "Forever in a Day." Even so, there is now a poll on the Bad Boy MySpace asking you to vote to help them choose their next single.
This follows the poll staged in mid-May. The choices for this poll are different as "Shawty Wats Up" and "Then There's You" have been removed and "Babymaker" has been added. You'll note, however, that the video for "Girlfriend" has already premiered online.
I voted for "Shawty Wats Up" in the last poll. Given these choices, my vote would go to "So Good," one of my favorite tracks off the album. At the time of writing, 925 votes have been cast and "Your Heels" holds the lead at 39%. "So Good" follows at 31%. "Babymaker" (16%) and "Girlfriend" (14%) round out the final two spots.
