Interscope has issued a press release regarding Dirty Money's American Idol performance and the subsequent rise of "Hello Good Morning" on iTunes.
One other tidbit is that it names D'Mile as one of the producers on Dirty Money's upcoming "Last Train to Paris" album, in addition to Rodney Jerkins, Mario Winans and Danja, which we'd previously mentioned here at Bad Boy Blog.
D'Mile's previous credits include Janet Jackson's "Feedback," Justin Bieber's "Favorite Girl" and Mary J. Blige's "Gonna Breakthrough."
Updating a previous report indicating that Rico Love wrote Dirty Money's "Hello Good Morning," an Interscope-issued press release mentions that he co-wrote the track. We should have a clearer picture on the song's credits if it debuts on the Billboard charts next week, which I expect it to.
April Fools' Day is almost over, so it's time for us to come clean. The report earlier today about the "Hello Good Morning" remixes is just a joke, in honor of the day. There is absolutely not truth to it; it is completely a prank.
There will be no "Hello Good Late Morning" featuring Red Cafe, "Hello Good Early Afternoon" featuring Rick Ross, "Hello Good Late Afternoon" featuring Pharrell, "Hello Good Evening" featuring Nas or "Hello Good Night" featuring Jay-Z. Reading the titles, it sounds pretty crazy. But, it also sounds just believable enough, right? Especially when you look at the awesome single covers.
When I came up with this idea, I felt the covers would be crucial to the joke. So, I found the font that was used for "Hello Good Morning." It's Friz Quadrata Bold. Unfortunately, this is not a free font. It cost me $29, but it was that important. What can I say? I'm committed.
It was a fun idea, but then something even funnier happened. Rick Ross actually threw a verse over "Hello Good Morning" and released it. Today! No kidding. I had absolutely no advance knowledge of that, but was it ever funny. So, we played that up as part of the prank. Thank you to Mr. Ross for that.
I'd like to thank everyone who read the story for being a good sport and for understanding. I appreciate everyone who spread the word and I hope that you had a fun day. It's that one day of the year... we had to do something! All other stories that we reported today were 100% accurate and our coverage now returns to normal.
Thank you for reading Bad Boy Blog and for sharing a laugh with us.
During his appearance on Red Cafe to premiere the "I'm Ill" music video, Red Cafe mentioned that he has a mixtape on the way titled "No Witnesses."
Previously, he had said he would release the "Hottest in the Hood, Vol. 2" mixtape on March 9, but it was not released. So, maybe "Not Witnesses" is, in effect, the same tape - but, maybe not. We'll see.
Red Cafe and Fabolous will be on today's episode of BET's 106 & Park, airing at 6 PM ET. The BET website says: "Fabolous brings on Red Cafe to premiere his new video."
There are a couple of ways to read this sentence: one being that it's a Fabolous video, the other that it's a Red Cafe video. So, who knows, just tune in.
Update: This was part of an April Fools' Day prank. While the track itself is real and Rick Ross did release it - that is the only accurate part of this story. It is not called "Hello Good Early Afternoon" and no further adjustments will be made to the track (that we know of). Please read the April Fools' Day post for full details.
Earlier today, we reported that Dirty Money would be releasing a series of remixes for "Hello Good Morning," including "Hello Good Early Afternoon" featuring Rick Ross.
A rough version of this track can now be heard on XXLMag.com. The Rick Ross verse is the main part to pay attention to here as the rest of the track will be adjusted to match the new title.
Update: This was an April Fools' Day joke. There is no truth to this story - it is simply a prank. Please read the April Fools' Day post for full details. Thank you for having a laugh with us.
