Care of Teairra Mari's Twitter, here's a free download for the "Sponsor (Remix)" we mentioned yesterday. It features Red Cafe and Soulja Boy.
Following up on my post about the "Diddy - Dirty Money" branding confusion, check out the group's interview with Ryan Seacrest on April 1. On it, Diddy addresses the group's name.
"There's a reason why we gotta be called 'Diddy - Dirty Money' - just in case there's any other groups out there like that," he said. "We want to make sure people know the difference, that we 'Diddy - Dirty Money." We gonna really start going by the name of 'The DM Crew,' so we can have it really, really clear."
He also talks about his business school idea, some crazy partying, Diddy's thoughts on Pink's Grammy performance and more.
We've just added "Heatbeat" by Gorilla Zoe featuring Daron Jones of 112 to our audio player. It's unclear how new or old this track may be, but it's always interesting to see current and former Bad Boy artists collaborate.
Update: On Twitter, Daron Jones replied to me: "Maybe like 5 or 6 years old. I don't know who the f*** leaked that. Not a good look to steal music..." Out of respect, we've decided to pull the track from our audio player.
Update 2: Also on Twitter, Gorilla Zoe said it is from 2007.
Yung Joc is featured on "Hang Glide" from Carrollton, GA based rapper Skinny Maciano. You can listen to it on his MySpace. It was produced by Bolo.
Red Cafe has added an opening verse to Teairra Mari's "Sponsor." The remix for the track also features Soulja Boy.
It has been almost a year since the group name "Dirty Money" was revealed by Dawn Richard on the Making the Band 4, Season 3, Part 2 finale.
The next day, we found out that the third member was Kalenna, even if we didn't quite yet know how to spell her name. A few months later, Diddy introduced Dirty Money as Sean, Dawn and Kelenna.
When some of the earliest visual branding of the group was released, such as the single covers for "Angels" and "Love Come Down," the songs were labeled as being by "Diddy - Dirty Money." This is exactly how the music videos have been credited and how the the songs are labeled on digital music services like Amazon and iTunes.
However, there is a small issue that I've noticed and it's one of brand confusion. Though it has been floating around for a while now, it was underscored when, before Dirty Money's appearance on American Idol, host Ryan Seacrest introduced them as "Diddy Dirty Money." Of course, "Diddy Dirty Money" isn't actually a thing. Diddy is an individual performer who is a member of the group Dirty Money.

Updating my post earlier today about the promised free download of Dirty Money's American Idol performance, long time Bad Boy Blog reader Curtis commented, informing me that the performance was on iTunes - at the price of $1.49.
In the run-up to the show, Bad Boy had said that the performance would be up on iTunes for free on April 1. I checked throughout the day and the video was never, in my viewing, listed in the free section of iTunes or of the special American Idol section.
It's unclear if the free download has just been pushed back or if it has been canceled entirely. I'm working on finding out more. Stay tuned.
Following the trailer, here is the full "O Let's Do It (Remix)" by Waka Flocka Flame featuring Diddy and Rick Ross. Fabolous and Red Cafe make cameo appearances.
Gucci Mane, featured on the original version of the track was cut, most likely due to him being in prison and, as such, unavailable to tape the music video ( watch behind the scenes footage).
While I enjoyed parts of it, this video is a little disappointing for me, due to the generally low production value. Low budget music videos are fine, bit it becomes an issue when they have the appearance of being low budget, as well, and the heavy reliance on various camera effects (look at all of the flames and how many times Diddy's verse is interrupted by a color change or pause) doesn't help.
Pushed by their performance on American Idol, Dirty Money's "Hello Good Morning" has continued to rise on the iTunes singles chart, reaching #6. It has since fallen back to #7.
In advance of Dirty Money's appearance on American Idol, a free download of the performance was promised on iTunes on April 1. It's now April 2 and it is not listed on iTunes free download section.
I had someone ask me about it, so I thought I'd bring it up here, as well. I don't know. I'm trying to find out. Stay tuned.
