As I mentioned in May, you can get a special bonus disc at F.Y.E. stores with New Joc City. I went down there today and got it. The tracklisting is as follows:

1. Cheri Dennis - So Complete featuring Diddy
2. 8 Ball & MJG - F*** That
3. Babs - What's That Sound featuring Diddy
4. 8 Ball & MJG - Get Low
5. Ness - My Hood featuring Diddy
6. Jordan McCoy - Just Watch Me

I really do like the What's That Sound and My Hood tracks. I bought them off iTunes a while back.

Here are the release dates from the album insert:

Cheri Dennis - July 2006
8Ball & MJG - July 2006
Making The Band - August 2006
Diddy - September 2006
Cassie - October 2006
Jordan McCoy - October 2006
B5 - December 2006

The Diddy date is holding so far, it looks like. It was a two sided insert with the other side being dedicated to the new Sean John shoe.

A number of noteworthy recent photosets at WhatsPoppin.net.

T.I. performance at the Apollo/Yung Joc album release party on June 2. Besides Joc, Cheri Dennis and Ne-Yo were also there.

Surprise birthday party for Def Jam Senior Vice President Michael Kyser on June 1. Yung Joc, Cheri Dennis, Harve Pierre, Jay-Z, Beyonce, T.I., Nia Long, DJ Clue?, Lyon Cohen, Consequence, Irv Gotti and others attended.

Diddy's "Welcome To Miami" party on May 26. This is an interesting one. The reason being, well... Jadakiss, Sheek and J-Hood (i.e. 3/4 of the present day The Lox) showed up. Not even they would miss Diddy's party. lol. Good stuff. As if that wasn't enough, Young City was there, as well. Trina, Bryant McKinnie, Kid Capri, Jha-Jha, Hell Rell, Gravy, Benzino, Hell Rell and DJ S&S. No pictures of Diddy?

Yung Joc's performance on June 1. This time, ALL of The Lox are there pictured. What's up with that? Fabolous, Zab Judah, Kid Capri, Red Cafe, Young Gavin, DJ Clue? and others were also in attendance.

From MTV.com:

The often malcontented DMX still sounds a little bitter about how his relationship with Def Jam ended. During his recent trip to the U.K., he barked that today's Def Jam reminds him of yesterday's Bad Boy.

"Puffy — P. Diddy, whatever — when he signed the LOX, Dee from Ruff Ryders bought me to Puffy too and was like 'Yo, you got to listen to X,' " DMX recalled. "And [Diddy] was like, 'I don't know, his voice is kind of rough and he's not marketable enough.' A couple of months later, I got the Def Jam deal and [Puff] was like, 'Listen, whatever they gave you, I'll double it.' I was like, 'No, because if you didn't know what to do with me then, you ain't going to know what to do with me now.' And that's pretty much like [me recently leaving Def Jam]. I'm glad I was able to get out of that situation because it's clear they didn't know what they were doing."

When's the last time this happened? AmLtEvX at BadBoyForever.com is reporting that on tonight's 106 & Park, It's Goin' Down came in at #4 followed by I Love You at #8 with Me&U being the new joint of the day. Didn't see it myself, but I'm not surprised. If it's true, good stuff.

Someone calling themself The Real Carl Thomas has posted this on their MySpace:

On October 31, 2004, my eldest brother and best friend, Duranthany, was brutally shot and murdered in Aurora, IL. He became the victim of a random drive by doled out by a couple of damn kids, 19 & 14 years old, to be exact! This catastrophic event occurred rocking my entire foundation and, the label did nothing to inform the fans. So, through my on going healing process, to the world, Carl Thomas the artist just seemed to fade and disappear into thin air. Dealing with the helpless feeling of not being able to do anything about my brothers death I realized that there were things about my life I could change and the state of my career was first on my list. This prompted my decision to part ways with Sean Combs and Bad Boy Entertainment. It's really all business and I'm glad to say Puff and I still love and respect each other, sharing no bad blood. So, There It Is!

Is it really Carl Thomas? Who knows. I don't really like to report MySpace things like this, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

We've added some songs to our audio player:

Ridin' High by 8 Ball & MJG featuring Diddy.
I Love You by Cheri Dennis featuring Jim Jones and Yung Joc.
It's Goin' Down by Yung Joc.
Just Watch Me by Jordan McCoy.

I'm not sure if Just Watch Me is the first single to Jordan McCoy's forthcoming album, but Ridin' High, I Love You and It's Goin' Down are to their respective albums.

On MySpace, a lady calling herself Jessica Garcia posted a while back saying that she was signed to Bad Boy and Interscope. The whole thing struck me as odd for any number of reasons, but I couldn't say with any conviction. However, I have just received confirmation that she is, in fact, not signed to Bad Boy.

From The New York Post:

Everyone from KeySpan to Sean "Diddy" Combs' record company have run up tens of millions of dollars in unpaid summonses for sanitation and street-digging violations because of "systemic problems" in the city's collection process. ...

Predictably, Verizon, Con Ed and KeySpan - which constantly have crews digging up city streets - all made the Top 10.

So did Diddy's Bad Boy Records and Universal Records, both of which were charged with plastering the city with illegal posters for new CDs.
