Prior to taking the stage to perform "Pop That" with French Montana and Diddy, Uncle Luke talked with MTV News about the song.
French Montana's biggest hit to date, "Pop That" samples a 2 Live Crew single "I Wanna Rock," specifically vocals from Uncle Luke. When he heard it, he says he knew it was a hit. He then joked about getting paid for the sample and said he'd talk to Diddy after the performance. Watch below.

Last week, French Montana revealed that his next single would feature Nicki Minaj.
Montana scored a noteworthy hit with "Pop That" featuring Rick Ross, Drake and Lil' Wayne, which has reached as high as #42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart of the 100 most popular singles in the country regardless of genre.
The New York rapper, speaking to MTV, has revealed some additional guests that will appear on his upcoming album, "Excuse My French." Among them are M.I.A., Lana Del Ray, Wiz Khalifa and Max B.
In addition, the album will open with a "classic," "No Way Out" era intro from Diddy. According to Montana, "Excuse My French" is 95% done. Watch the interview below.
French Montana talked to MTV News about Lil' Wayne's comments about New York. Simply put, the Young Money rapper does not like New York City.
Even so, New York-based Montana understands.
"I mean, if I was to go to New Orleans and catch a gun charge and really go through it with New Orleans, I think there might be a point in time, if I get sick and tired, and be like 'man, I hate New Orleans,' he said. "It might not mean I hate the people. Sometimes you might be like 'I hate Jamaican food,' not saying 'I hate Jamaicans.' You know what I'm saying? I think it go like that and I feel like that's why nobody really got at him yet for saying that 'cause it is a statement you can make."
According to Bad Boy Records, French Montana will appear on MTV's RapFix Live at 4 PM ET to discuss his upcoming album, "Excuse My French." You can watch online.

French Montana told MTV News that he will follow his Hot 100 hit "Pop That" with a new single featuring Nicki Minaj. He also set a new time frame for his debut album, "Excuse My French," saying that it will be out in December.

In an interview with The Boombox published last week, French Montana revealed that he and his wife of five years were in the middle of a divorce.
"Man, I couldn't do it, that's why we got separated," he said. "At first it was smooth, but then as much as people think that money changes you, it's changing them around you. A person ain't gonna treat you the same now that they think that you think you somebody."
Earlier this month, Big Sean released a new mixtape, "Detroit," for free download. The set includes "Mula," which features French Montana.
