For Spotify members, we have just released a couple of Bad Boy and Diddy focused playlists.
Our "Diddy's Greatest Hits" playlist features all of Diddy's solo songs that charted on The Billboard Hot 100 chart, plus "It's All About the Benjamins (Remix)." Only one song is missing, "Come With Me," because Spotify does not yet have it.
The second playlist is "The Remixes," a loose list of remixes that were either produced by Diddy and/or a member of The Hitmen (when they were with The Hitmen), remixes that have vocals from Diddy or remixes that feature a current or former Bad Boy artist when they were with Bad Boy.
If we're missing any songs that could fit into that second list, and the song is available on Spotify, please let us know in the comments.
Enjoy!
If you are a regular reader of Bad Boy Blog, you know that every week we post the latest Bad Boy positions on the Billboard charts. Usually on Thursday.
You may have noticed that Thursday, July 21 came and went with no charts. And the same thing happened on July 28. I'd like to apologize for that.
The reason for it is that the login system on Billboard.biz has been down for at least 11 days. Billboard.biz, a more music industry focused site than Billboard.com, gives paying subscribers (like us) access to the full Billboard charts. I have called and emailed them and they said (last week) that it was a known issue that they were hoping to have fixed soon.
As soon as they fix it, we'll go back and post the charts that we have missed as well as the current charts.
Thank you for reading Bad Boy Blog.
Have you heard of Turntable.fm? The social DJing service allows you to play licensed songs for others and/or to listen to what others play. It is a lot of fun and I have been spending a lot of time on it lately.
The service allows you to create rooms and, for a couple of weeks now, I have wanted to try to host a Bad Boy Records DJ set, focusing on music released by or featuring artists that are now or were once signed to Bad Boy. With former artists, I will be playing music that they released or were featured on while they were with Bad Boy.
Our first attempt at this is going to be this Saturday, July 9, from 9 to 10 PM Eastern Time. I'll be DJing for the room, playing a wide array songs and hopefully taking a few requests, as well. If it goes well, we'll make it a regular thing and maybe even extend it beyond an hour.
Turntable.fm is not open to the general public, unfortunately. To join, you must be in the United States and you must have a Facebook friend who is already on the service. Visit Turntable.fm and connect your Facebook page to see if you have one. However, if you don't, all is not lost. I would be happy to add you as a friend on my personal Facebook, so that you can get in. When you submit the friend request, please include a note saying that you are a Bad Boy Blog reader, so that I know where you are coming from.
Once you are on Turntable.fm, you'll have everything that you need to hang out in the room, listen to some Bad Boy music and chat with me and others. You can find the Bad Boy Blog room at turntable.fm/badboyblogcom. I look forward to seeing you there!
Note: I realize this is not what you would typically expect from Bad Boy Blog. So, please feel free to skip this post. I expect to have some thoughts to share about the Norfolk show, as well as some photos and (maybe) video soon enough. Thank you.
I think most readers probably realize this, but if not: I am a big fan of Diddy. A big fan. How big? Well, ask yourself this question: if you could choose one musical act that you would like to see perform in person, dead or alive, who would it be? For me, it would be Diddy.
I have (seemingly) every musical recording he's ever produced or performed on, with a substantial (legally obtained) collection of music that spans digital, cassette, CD and vinyl. If you sit down and chart out my music listening habits on my Last.fm profile and dive deeper than the very basic summary statistics they provide, you will see that I listen to songs featuring Diddy more than any other act (and it's not even close).
I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on music featuring Diddy or released by Bad Boy Records, clothing from Sean John, numerous Diddy-related products and countless pieces of memorabilia. With the hope that I am not starting to sound like a crazy fan, I would also say that he's an inspiration to me on a personal and professional level, as well.
I have been a fan of him for 14 years, since 1997 when I was 12 years old. But, until last Sunday, I had never seen him live. I wasn't old enough, he didn't tour near me, whatever the reason. Diddy only rarely tours.

As you may know, today is April Fools Day and, as has become tradition around here, I participated by announcing that Bad Boy would change it's name to Good Boy. Ha.
Our logo was changed to the one embedded below and I did really register the domain name goodboyblog.com and it does really redirect to this website.
I hope that everyone had a fun day. Thank you for visiting Bad Boy Blog.
I was down at South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive for the past week and that is why there has been no new articles during this span. We'll resume coverage shortly, but I wanted to be sure to mention that on Monday, Bad Boy Blog celebrated five years online.
I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who supports what we do here. I launched this site because it was the site I wanted as a Bad Boy fan and that is where our responsibility first lies - to fans. I have a responsibility to provide accurate, fair coverage and work hard, every day, to ensure that that standard is met.
Thank you to the people in and around Bad Boy, and it's artists and ventures, who understand this and the importance of it - the importance of that independence and our responsibility to cover all stories. Not just the positive ones.
Thank you for reading this and for visiting Bad Boy Blog.
Sincerely,
Patrick
October through January were hectic months around here. With the release of "Last Train to Paris" and various professional and personal endeavors, I have had my head down, focused for the last few months. Sorry about that.
Due to this, we have only covered the bigger stories or the stories that happened to hit my proverbial desk. But, I didn't want you to miss out on the stories that we would normally cover. So, I have prepared a series of "news you might have missed" posts that I will be publishing over the next few days. These posts will consist of news items that were temporarily skipped, organized by article or topic, that I felt were still worth mentioning.
Thank you for reading Bad Boy Blog.
Thank you for visiting Bad Boy Blog.
On Tuesday, January 25 at (around - might be a bit before or after) 4 PM ET (GMT -5), I will be moving Bad Boy Blog to a new server. There will be some downtime associated with this. It's unclear how much, but hoping for as little as possible.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
We're nearing the end of 2010 and so I wanted to take a moment to wish you a happy holiday season and a happy, healthy and successful 2011!
I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who supports this site. This includes everyone who appreciates what Bad Boy Blog stands for, regularly reads it and subscribes, everyone who comments thoughtfully and everyone who shares our stories with their friends via Twitter, Facebook or some other means. I really appreciate you.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Patrick
As I mentioned back in July, I will be attending BlogWorld & New Media Expo in Las Vegas. Due to this, coverage may be light here for the next week or so.
I may still post some news, especially if anything particularly noteworthy breaks, but otherwise, I just wanted to make sure that my regular readers were aware.
Thank you for your understanding and support of Bad Boy Blog.
