Gorilla Zoe appeared at Pearl C. Anderson Junior High School in Dallas on Friday, March 6. Reportedly, the speech went fine, but 10 and 11 year old students were given posters featuring the album artwork for "Don't Feed the Animals" and this has created a bit of a controversy, reports WFAA-TV's Craig Civale. The photo features Gorilla Zoe sitting behind a pile of money, smoking a cigar and drinking a brown liquid.

Some Parents and "activists" were critical of the message that the poster conveyed. The article features video from a TV news segment where Civale notes that Gorilla Zoe called him, in an effort to clear up the misunderstanding.

"He called me late tonight, telling me that he did not mean to mislead the children or offend their parents," Civale said. "He also told me that those school kids actually received a cleaned up version of this poster."

At the end of the day, it's a misstep by all parties, but probably not as big a deal as some are making it.
