In a statement published by HipHopDX, Day26 announced earlier this week that the group would "take a break" to focus on solo efforts.
This followed a slew of Twitter messages from members Brian Angel, Willie Taylor and Michael McCluney last week, hinting that such an announcement may come.
From what the group has said for a while, they were no longer signed to Bad Boy Records and were Atlantic Records only. But, given conflicting information, we had maintained coverage of them to see where the dust settled. Now that it has, we will cease coverage of Day26.
During their time with Bad Boy, the group released two albums. Their 2008 self-titled debut hit #1 on the Billboard 200, spawning a successful lead single in "Got Me Going." A little over a year later, they followed with "Forever in a Day," which reached #2 and featured "Imma Put It On Her."
Ester Dean has released a solo version of "Invincible" without Machine Gun Kelly. You can listen to it below and download it on LozzaMusic.com, care of Dean's Twitter.
Earlier today, Billboard released their charts for the week of July 28. French Montana's "Pop That" saw impressive gains, including a debut on the Hot 100, the chart that represents the top 100 songs in the country, regardless of genre.
The single marks Montana's first on the big board, with the song coming in at #90.
Here are Bad Boy's positions on the most recent Billboard U.S. album and single charts, released today. French Montana scores his first Hot 100 single with "Pop That," while Biggie's "Greatest Hits" makes another run.
