From MTV:

In the latest bizarre twist in the long-running lawsuit by the family of late rapper Notorious B.I.G. against the city of Los Angeles, the federal judge who declared a mistrial and ordered the city to pay $1.1 million to the rapper's family said Tuesday that she had been deceived about evidence in the wrongful-death lawsuit, according to the Los Angeles Times.

This was posted on XXLMAG.COM in March, but it is a very interesting read with perspectives from people who took part in it. There are some strong words here and there, but you should definitely take it with a grain of salt as one person's opinion, I'd say.

10 “Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems”
FEATURING PUFFY AND MA$E
Produced by Stevie J. and Puffy
Stevie J. Ma$e came to me in the studio one day with this “I’m Comin’ Out” sample. He’s like, “When you gonna use this right here? Either my album, Puff album or Big album?” So we laid the track first but nobody knew who was gonna get it. And then when Big came with the “B-I-G P-O-P-P-A!” What!? That was Big’s joint. Everybody felt that.

Updating a previous story, Gravy has confirmed at XXLMAG.COM that he is going for the role of Biggie in the upcoming The Notorious B.I.G. movie.

Has anyone ever told you, you bear a strong resemblance to Biggie?
Oh yeah. I’m trying for the Biggie movie. I’m up for [the lead] in that, so I got a lot of pressure for that.

How did you get involved with the Biggie movie?
I mean, you can look at me. What do I look like? God willin’, I’ma get that role and it’ll be a good setup. I just got a call from Mark Pitts to come and do the casting pretty soon.

As part of MTV News' Greatest MCs, MTV asked some artists to give their favorite MCs.

They asked Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Mary J. Blige, Nas, Lloyd Banks, Grandmaster Flash, Jermaine Dupri, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim and 50 Cent. Everyone mentioned Biggie - except for 50 Cent.

Just wanted to post a quick note about MTV News' Greatest MCs of All Time, they've posted the full list putting Jay-Z at number 1 and 2Pac at number 2. They have videos for the entire top 5 as well as a series of videos on the debate process (including people debating whether Big or Pac should be higher, etc.).

Biggie was named #3 on MTV.com's The Greatest MCs of All Time. They haven't posted his page, yet, but he finished ahead of LL Cool J, Eminem, Ice Cube, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, Nas and Rakim. Looking at the pictures around the site, the people who have been mentioned and the people mentioned as honorable mentions, you can reasonably guess that Jay-Z and 2Pac round out the top 2 in whatever order. That's a little surprising considering that when they first came out with their Top 10 Hip Hop Albums of All Time, Biggie had 2 and 2Pac had none, so they went back and let 2Pac have 1 and took one of Biggie's off. But, I guess greatest albums doesn't equal greatest MC...
