Overnight, nude pictures of Cassie leaked online. According to the singer, someone hacked into her computer, in order to gain access to them. To her credit, she has
quickly issued a statement regarding their release online:
The recent personal pictures that have been leaked on the internet of me were hacked and stolen out of my computer. These photos were obviously never intended for the world to see and it’s sad that people would really take time to steal and post them, it’s just evil. At the end of the day breasts are breasts, mine weren’t the first you’ve seen and they won’t be the last… people need to grow up, let’s move on. Thank you.
She is an adult and is free to use her computer as she wants. That said, I question the wisdom of a celebrity putting nude photos on their computer, cell phone or any internet connected device in this day and age. Celebrity devices getting hacked and pictures getting taken isn't new and it is something that has made headlines before. I don't mean to pile on, by any means, and she's probably asking herself the same questions I'm asking right now.
However, what shouldn't be forgotten is that her privacy has been breached here and that is not OK. Whether or not she should have had the pictures on her computer, it is both illegal and unethical for someone to hack her computer. She is right to call that person "evil."
There appears to have been two photos posted online, both of mediocre image quality. For what it's worth, they are only of her upper half. (
Update: It now appears that full pictures have been leaked, as well, unfortunately). I'm not going to link to them, and any links posted in the comments will be deleted, as well any comments by people indicating they have seen them. At the end of the day, if you want to find them, you can. But, you're just not going to do it here, as we try to maintain a relatively work friendly environment, as much as possible. Just because I have to acknowledge this story doesn't mean we'll be acting as a point of distribution. Thank you, in advance, for respecting that.
Steven Gottlieb of Video Static reports that the music video for Cassie's "Must Be Love" (featuring Diddy) has been booked and will be directed by Bernard Gourley.
Gourley has directed such videos as M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes", Flo Rida's "Low" and Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's."
Brad Wete of Vibe posted a new song from Cassie called "Not What Love Is." Listen to it below.
Here's the single cover for Cassie's "Must Be Love" featuring Puff Daddy:
Check out our
audio player for a new track from Cassie, "Keep On Loving Me" featuring The Dream. Kind of a cool track - it could grow on me.
When I first saw P. Twitty episode number 27 (watch below), it seemed like Diddy may have revealed the title of Cassie's upcoming album. He noted that he was finishing up by "Cassie electro love album." But, then, he's
called his own album "electro hip hop soul funk," so I wasn't 100% sure if he was describing the type of songs on it (i.e. electro love songs) or the album title itself. But,
MTV says:
The radical new look comes just days after Diddy confirmed on his video blog that Cassie's new album would be called Electro Love and is slated to be released later this year.
So, there you have it. I like the title.
According to the
Bad Boy MySpace, Cassie's "Must Be Love" "featuring Puff Daddy" will be available on iTunes on April 14.
Check out "Let's Get Crazy" by Cassie featuring Akon in our
audio player. I love this. It is incredibly infectious. Don't believe me? Check out my
Last.fm history and go down a few pages. Great track.
Your thoughts?
An
article on the Vibe website says that the title of Cassie's upcoming album is "In Your Dreams." To be honest, I don't believe it and I'd regard it as a rumor, at this point. The main place I see the title online is Wikipedia and that doesn't really bode well for it.
Last week, we posted some studio footage of Diddy and Cassie working on the mix for "Must Be Love," a new track from the singer that features Diddy. You can now check out the full version in our
audio player.
