03/05: Janelle Monae is Patrick Stump's Favorite New Artist
Fall Out Boy frontman and solo artist Patrick Stump was
asked by Spin to name some of his favorite things. When it came to his favorite new artist, he named Janelle Monae.
"I've been salivating for Janelle Monae's debut album since I heard her gorgeously breathy voice on her Off the Wall-style single "Lettin' Go!" She was already my favorite new artist before she put out her brilliant Metropolis EP, but on the heels of her epic Grammy performance, I imagine I'll be hearing my favorite new artist on the radio constantly."
This isn't the first time Stump has publicly praised the singer. Back in 2008,
he called her "Metropolis: The Chase Suite" his favorite album of that year. The pair
collaborated for Coke's "Open Happiness" campaign in 2009.
