Updating yesterday's story, according to Danity Kane's imeem, "Welcome to the Dollhouse" has been certified gold by the RIAA.
According to Danity Kane's MySpace, their sophomore release "Welcome to the Dollhouse" has gone gold.
With a live band, the girls of Danity Kane performed "Damaged" last night on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. The performance was great and the ladies were beautiful as usual. While the credits rolled, they performed a snippet of "Poetry" also from the new album "Welcome to the Dollhouse". Check out the performance below.
So I ask, what do you think will be the next single? My prediction is "Ecstasy", let me know what you think.
Danity Kane is currently featured on Wal-Mart's Soundcheck. In it, they perform "Poetry", "Showstopper", "One Shot" and "Damaged". A short interview session follows. Check it out.
The girls of Danity Kane are scheduled to perform at the U92.7 Anniversary Bash in Aubrey O'Day's hometown of La Quinta, CA. After making their rounds in the other members hometowns, its Aubrey's turn at this radio celebration. The radio station has shown great support for the group, with their single "Damaged" in constant rotation. We're really excited," O'Day told The Desert Sun. "Everybody (in the group) has heard about the desert and they've never got to see it. I think the desert was the No. 1 station playing our single in the beginning. They broke all the records for (their first single) "Show Stopper," but definitely for (their new single) "Damaged." I was like, 'You guys! My home town station is breaking all the records!"
The U92.7 Anniversary Bash is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th from Noon-7pm, the gates open at 11 a.m. The concert will be located at the Riverside County Fairgrouds, 82-503 Hwy 111, Indio, CA. The cost of tickets is $25 and will include other acts; Ray-J, E-40 and Cherish.

The new Danity Kane site has launched. Like a majority of things that Bad Boy has attempted online, it's a half done disappointment, unfortunately. Most pages don't seem to work, most notably the audio player. The DKTV section only features videos from their last album, no "Damaged" (how is that possible?) The "Community" appears to be a basic MySpace clone powered by a third party provider with only a very simple level of customization. When is Bad Boy going to learn that they need to take the time to cultivate community and then take it with them, regardless of the platform? They need control of their content and their community's content.
While the site is pretty, the content isn't there. This site should not have launched as it has.
According to Billboard.com, Danity Kane's sophomore release "Welcome to the Dollhouse" is the #1 Album in the country. This is the second #1 album in as many records for the ladies. This album, according to Nielsen SoundScan has sold 236,000 copies in the first week of release.
Congratulations the the girls of Danity Kane. Beating the first week sales of their self-titled debut in 2006, which sold 234,000 copies. Also, "Welcome to the Dollhouse" celebrates the second biggest sales week of the year, second to Jack Johnson's "Sleep Through the Static". This is a very impressive feat, being that album sales have been tough to come by for major artists.
