06/08: ASCAP to Honor Janelle Monae with the Vanguard Award
According to a
press release, Janelle Monae will be honored with the Vanguard Award at the
23rd annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
The award "recognizes the impact of musical genres that help shape the future of American music" and past honorees have included The Killers, Santigold, Sara Bareilles, The All-American Rejects, The Strokes, and the Beastie Boys. Congrats to her.
