Earlier today, I mentioned the Billboard report on Donnie Klang's exit from Bad Boy. He said the following:
Klang said he learned a lot about "the business side of things, not just music," from Bad Boy and its CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs, but added that, "it's tough being on a label where the president of the label is also an artist."
On Twitter, he sought to clarify the statement.
"I just want to clarify," he wrote. "I did the interview with Billboard and expressed a ton of gratitude toward Puff and everything he has done for me."
According to the show's website, Janelle Monae will perform on tonight's episode of "The Mo'Nique Show" on BET. It airs at 11 PM ET.
On Universal Music's Off TV Facebook page, you can check out a quick clip from this morning's Dirty Money press conference in France.
Vibe asked Big Boi if Janelle Monae was signed to him or Diddy and he answered that she's signed to him.
At this point, she's signed to at least four people and companies, it seems. Big Boi, Bad Boy, Atlantic and her own Wondaland Arts Society. But, I don't think anyone has ever doubted that Big Boi was the first big player to discover her.
But, Bad Boy is no stranger to dealing with artists who first signed some sort of production or label deal with a smaller company or individual, whether it be 112 and B5 having deals with Kevin Wales, Gorilla Zoe, Boyz N Da Hood and Yung Joc having deals with Block Entertainment or Janelle Monae.
Yesterday, Dirty Money performed "Hello Good Morning" on French TV show "Le Grand Journal." Check out the performance on Player CANAL+, care of the Diddy/Dirty Money website.
AllHipHop.com's Clayton Perry has an interview with Janelle Monae, covering a myriad of topics.
AllHipHop.com: As more and more people become acquainted with Janelle Monáe, “the artist,” what would you like for them to know about Janelle Monáe, “the person”?
Janelle Monáe: I'm a doer. I don't really do a lot of talking, I guess. But I'm very interested in uniting. I want you to know that. The thing I love about the Android is that it represents the other. And that's why I connect with the Android. I think that we are going to live in a world with androids soon, because of the rapid advancement of technology. I think, though, that we'll need a mediator for the other and the majority, of the haves and the have nots, the oppressed and the oppressor. There's a saying in Metropolis, the movie, which inspired me. "The mediator between the mind and the hand is the heart." And I consider myself the heart.
Tim Cashmere of undercover.com.au reports that Janelle Monae will be one of the artists featured on Big Boi's new album, "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty."
Monae is featured on "Be Still." The album is set for a July 6 release. You can pre-order it on Amazon.com.
Billboard reports on Donnie Klang's announcement that he is no longer signed to Bad Boy Records. Oddly, they refer to it as an "exclusive," even though Singersroom.com reported a couple of weeks ago.
Klang said he learned a lot about "the business side of things, not just music," from Bad Boy and its CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs, but added that, "it's tough being on a label where the president of the label is also an artist."
I can see how it is both a good thing to some and a bad thing to others. A lot of people who are now Donnie Klang fans wouldn't know who Donnie is if Diddy weren't as well know as he is (and the biggest reason he's well known is because he is an artist).

On Monday, Janelle Monae performed at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City, as part of Erykah Badu's tour. There are some clips on YouTube. KingRay830 took footage while she was performing "Dance or Die," "Cold War" and Smile." Check those clips out below.

Fashionista's Lauren Sherman and On the Runway's Cathy Horyn report from last night's CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards.
Horyn praised the show and mentioned that Diddy was featured in a lighthearted video, joking about the fashion industry.
"One would much rather laugh at the image of the industry, as people did so vigorously during the P. Diddy video, than witness another occasion for self-congratulation," she wrote.
