After the 2010 BET Awards, Diddy hosted the After Party with Taraji P. Henson and had array of guests, including Dirty Money, Janelle Monae, Red Cafe, awards show host Queen Latifah, Big Tigger, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Nicki Minaj, Young Money and more.
The affair was co-sponsored by "Last Train to Paris," Ciroc and Diddy Beats/Beats by Dr. Dre. Diddy was having fun hosting and promoting. There are an assortment of funny moments, including Diddy telling El DeBarge that he received his first kiss to one of his records.
Watch the whole thing below.
Young Money was awarded with Best Group honors at the 2010 BET Awards last night, besting Dirty Money who had also been nominated in the category.
Earlier this month, we saw some of Rick Ross' "B.M.F." music video. But, that video has since been removed. Check out some behind the scenes video (care of 57ThAve) from the shoot with Diddy and Cassie on hand, as well as DJ Khaled, Styles P. and Jadakiss.
"B.M.F." features Styles P. and if the preview shown from the 3:02 mark through 3:50 is any indication, Diddy appears to have a heavy cameo.
Listen real closely from the 2:24 mark through 2:54. It sounds like an unreleased Diddy rap verse. It's not clear what it is from, however.
Back in May, Diddy revealed his interest in replacing Simon Cowell FOX's hit show "American Idol." At that time, he asked "everybody to get on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and say that Diddy should get the Simon spot." When I heard that, I thought, how can we lead that effort?
The answer to that question is DiddyForIdol.com, a special mini-site dedicated to helping those who support the idea to spread the word. Originally, we were going to get Dirty Money's "Last Train to Paris" album on midnight after the BET Awards. But, since that release was pushed back, I decided to move this one up!
I've never watched an episode of "American Idol" in my life, but if Diddy was added as a judge, I'd start. If you feel the same way, check out DiddyForIdol.com and spread the word today and everyday!
To bring the BET Awards to a close, DJ Khaled performed "All I Do is Win (Remix)." He began by performing the original with Ludacris - led in by Luda performing "My Chick Bad" featuring Nicki Minaj.
After Luda performed his verse, Khaled jumped into his remix verse, followed by Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy and Nicki Minaj. Christian Combs and Red Cafe were also on stage.
On tonight's BET Awards, Janelle Monae paid tribute to Prince with a rousing rendition of his song "Let's Go Crazy," in her usual energetic and enigmatic fashion. From the crowd, Prince seemed to be enjoying it. Nice job by Monae.
Edit: She later returned to the stage with Alicia Keys, Ezperanza Spaulding and Patti LaBelle, all of which also performed tributes to Price.
Dirty Money just performed on the BET Awards. The performance opened in smoke with Diddy performing his opening verse on Waka Flocka Flame's "O Let's Do It (Remix)." It looked like Waka Flocka Flame was next to Diddy during the verse, but the smoke was so thick it was hard to make him out.
After his verse, they broke into "Hello Good Morning" with Rick Ross kicking it off. T.I. came in and performed his verse and then they reset the track and Nicki Minaj emerged from beneath the stage to perform her verse. They performed the rest of the song and they closed, all standing next to each other, at the end of the track.
It was a very strong performance. Great visuals. The one thing was that there was a lot of smoke - so much so that it was making it difficult to see the performers at times. But, as of this moment, it was the strongest performance of the night, in my opinion.
On Twitter, Aasim has announced plans to release a mixtape every month on the first Monday of the month. However, he said his next mixtape, "Off the Shelf" will be released tomorrow, June 28.
There have been some rumblings online that Janelle Monae will be performing as part of a tribute to Prince tonight on the BET Awards, starting at 8 PM ET on BET. That's not confirmed. But, Stephen Hill, the Vice President of Entertainment and Music Programming for BET, posted a photo on Twitter, saying that "Janelle Monae going CRAZY in rehearsal for the BET Awards."
According to DJ Khaled on Twitter, the DJ Khaled's "All I Do is Win (Remix)" music video has premiered on the MTV Jams channel and is the Jam of the Week.
The video features Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz and T-Pain. Khaled has compared it to the "Flava in Ya Ear (Remix)" video. Check out some behind the scenes footage.
MTV Jams isn't available on a widespread basis. I don't have it. Stay tuned for the online debut of the clip.
