And this is where the
"Get Low" video comes in (even if that one was a rough cut and not the finished version). 8 Ball & MJG will be launching a 20 minute mini movie on
MP3.com on May 11.
The movie, called "Ride Out", will be comprised of four music videos for songs from "Ridin High". In the first video "Hickory Dickory Dock", 8 Ball & MJG are in a ... uh... gentleman's club. This video will premiere on May 7 on
SOHH.com. In the second video,
"Get Low", the club is robbed. The "Get Low" video will premiere on May 7 on
AllHipHop.com.
The third video will be "Take It Off" - this video will be after the robbery, them leaving and making it back to their hotel. It'll premiere on
HipHopDX on May 9. The final video "Stand Up", featuring cameos from Bobby Valentino and David Banner, will premiere on
HipHopGame.com on May 9.
The video for "30 Rocks" will premiere on Bad Boy Blog on... just kidding.
And then, as I said, the entire thing will premiere on MP3.com on May 11.
I have to say, this is a cool thing to do and it should be interesting to see.
Honestly, I am not sure where this came from or what it's background is, but it appears to be at least somewhat official (if only because 8 Ball & MJG did it on their own/for fun/whatever).
Check it out.

From
BallerStatus.com:
The Memphis, Tennessee duo claim that they were interrogated on their way to the show for no reason at all, something they say has gone on for years. "Yeah, it was some backwards racist b*******," 8 Ball said in a statement released to BallerStatus.com. "They acted like we still in the 60s. The South is my home, but s*** like that will never change. And a lot of the people who were against the show just mad cause they kids, wives and sisters are fans of our music."

Just an update on the
video for "Cruizin'": it's slated to be shot April 17-19.
Here is a review of "Ridin High" from
Memphis Commercial Appeal:
The pair also stay true to their favorite themes -- cars, marijuana and sex -- though one imagines there is considerable pressure on them to project a more presentable image for Top 40 radio. (Bad Boy has simultaneously released a "clean version" of Ridin' High that omits some of the raunchier tracks.) But it would be a shame to let priggishness get in the way of enjoying a song like the title track, one of the most infectious 8Ball & MJG have ever produced. Ridin' High may not be as satisfying as Living Legends, and it has some filler. But the handful of tracks that rise above it all are among the best things 8Ball & MJG have done. Long live the new kings of Memphis rap.
AllHipHop.com has a review of "Ridin High":
If you really enjoy the gritty street sound of 8Ball & MJG, you will enjoy this album. The veteran teams possesses enough lyrical flair and production punch to sway those not too keen on Southern tinged Hip-Hop. Consider Ridin High a trip worth taking.
