From the press release:

Designer and winner Jesli Banks from MTV’s Sean John: Internship by Design competition, will partner with fellow winning finalists Jason Santiago and Graehme Field to debut “Menage A Trois”, an edgy, nostalgic and flora fauna show during New York’s Fashion Week. The fashion show takes place Thursday, September 11, 2008 at HK Lounge at 8pm.

“Winning the Internship by Design Competition and working with Diddy has been a dream come true,” says Banks. “I absolutely love Diddy, his creativity and dedication to Sean John. I've learned how to create a fierce collection while staying true to my vision. Now I want to make history!”

Jesli Banks’ new Berkli Collection Spring/Summer 2009 Nos·tal·gia line will be the show-stopping finale. Banks’ fresh collection is tie-dye inspired with flowing silk chiffons, satin charmeuse, body conscious metallic leathers and boasts vibrant colors. The clothes are feminine and nostalgic, with retro appeal.

Joining Jesli to create the “Menage a Trois” are collections by Jason Santiago and Graehme Field, who were also winning finalists in the MTV/Sean John Intern By Design competition. Jason’s Spring/ Summer 2009: edgy collection symbolizes a reflection of his personality, charm and edge. It combines femininity with a twist of street, with earth tones and a bit of urban, infused with glam.

Graehme Field’s Fall/Winter 2009: Flora Fauna For Fall collection is based on the idea of mixing elements from summer into a fall/ winter collection. The collection’s theme is echoed in the hundreds of hand cut flowers, each artfully arranged on certain pieces. Fabrications are thick felts and woolens along with some very feminine fabrics. “Femininity and adornment is the key!”, says Graehme.

The show begins promptly at 8pm, Thursday, September 11th at H.K. Lounge, 523 Ninth Avenue, New York City.

Watch below for a video announcement from Diddy relating to Nelly being named as the spokesmodel for Sean John Underwear. There is also footage from Nelly's photoshoot featuring Cedric the Entertainer.

Finally, as I watched it, I noticed that the Sean John signature they flash for the Sean John Underwear logo is altered from the normal Sean John logo. If you compare the one in the video, and the normal one, side by side, you'll notice the O in the logo is a little different. Trivial for sure, but companies don't usually mess with their logos, so I thought some might find it interesting.

From Fashion Week Daily:

Sean John will celebrate its diamond anniversary this month. In lieu of debuting the Spring/Summer 2009 collection at MAGIC in Las Vegas, Combs will be hosting an editor preview mid-August at his home base in the Sean John building at 1710 Broadway. And front rowers looking forward to a fashion week extravaganza won't get their fix this season--come September, there will be no Sean John runway show.

In light of the recent controversy surrounding a fragrance ad campaign by Calvin Klein, Women's Wear Daily spoke with Diddy, getting his thoughts as well as reflections from the controversial Sean John fragrance launch campaign.

“We got an extreme amount of push-back and it affected us in department stores,” Combs said of the 2006 men’s campaign, which was reshot after a public outcry. “On the first ad, I wasn’t even near the women — but it was the imagination of the people that were looking at it. Their imagination went wild. I feel like it was just jarring for people to see a black man portrayed that way in ads. You never saw that. It was the first time in history that you really saw that level of sexuality, especially with other women that weren’t African-American. Especially in the Bible Belt, they weren’t really ready for it.”

The second ad, for Unforgivable for Women, featured Combs up against a wall with a model, his hand reaching between her legs. “In the second campaign, I was fully clothed in a three-piece suit. And they said it was still too intense.”
