Earlier this month, Red Cafe appeared on DJ Superstar Jay's show on Shade45. He freestyled over Juicy J's "Bandz A Make Her Dance." This was followed with an interview. Among the highlights:
- Referring to "Champagne for the Pain" (featuring Young Jeezy), Red Cafe said that if he had an album coming out soon, he'd put it on the album. But, since he doesn't, it'll be on his "American Psycho" mixtape, which was originally slated for October and is still coming. He did say that he thinks an album is within 6 months.
- He discussed how it is easy to get spoiled when you are hanging around Diddy and fall into the trap of thinking that you live his lifestyle and have achieved his level of success. He suggested that some former Bad Boy artists may fall into this camp, feeling that Diddy didn't treat them well, when a part of it was that they thought they were living his lifestyle and not taking the time to work hard.
Today on Twitter, Young Jeezy shared a photo from the set of Red Cafe's "Champagne for the Pain" music video shoot. This will be the official music video, following Red Cafe's prelude clip.
According to the background image on Red Cafe's Twitter profile, the rapper will release "American Psycho" in October. Numerous outlets are referring to it as a mixtape, but I couldn't find an actual confirmation of this by the rapper. His upcoming debut album is titled "The Shakedown," a fact reinforced by the recently released clip below, a video for "Champagne for the Pain" which features a mix of performance footage and more.
"Champagne for the Pain," Red Cafe's collaboration with Young Jeezy that was originally teased in August, was released by TheMixtapeHustle.com last month. Check out the single cover, listen and download below.
At the start of his music video for "Brinks Truck", Red Cafe teased two new songs: a collaboration with Young Jeezy, "Champagne for the Pain" and "Gucci Everything." The visual simply said that both are "coming soon." Watch for the teasers at the start and end of the clip below.
