11/28: Mary J. Blige's "My Life II... The Journey Continues (Act 1)" Begins with Diddy Intro
Mary J. Blige released the sequel to 1994's "My Life," which is considered by many to be a classic R&B album. That release featured heavy production from Diddy, who teamed mostly with Carl "Chucky" Thompson to provide nearly all of the album.
Unfortunately, the sequel does not contain any production from Diddy, though some versions of the album include
Someone to Love Me (Naked)", which features the Bad Boy CEO, as a bonus track.
But, Diddy's voice is heard on the album thanks to the intro, a telephone conversation - just like the opener to the original "My Life."
Diddy says that if she wants to follow up a classic, she must "come with it." Blige then explains that the album represents an evolution and isn't a competitor to her second album.
