02/16: Sean John Unforgivable Packaging Dispute Update: Diddy's Lawyers Want Journalist's Notes
In January of 2009, glass artist Tom Patti
filed a lawsuit against Diddy and the supposed designers of the packaging for Sean John Unforgivable. Specifically, the square, plastic case that the bottle of cologne rests in. In September,
court proceedings began.
Janon Fisher at the New York Post has the latest in the case: lawyers for Diddy are now looking for the judge to compel Brooklyn, New York-based
GLASS Quarterly to provide notes from the author of a 2008 article that suggested Sean John had misappropriated Patti's sculpture. Specifically, the contention is that the magazine gave Patti the idea to file the suit.
