07/10: Diddy Moves Up a Spot in Forbes' 2009 Ranking of Hip-Hop's Biggest Earners
After finishing third in both
2007 and
2008, Diddy has moved up to second place in the
2009 Forbes list of the top earners in hip-hop.
Diddy's $30 million dollars in estimated income was a $5 million dollar drop from 2008 (though still $2 million dollars higher than 2007), but the list as a whole saw a 40% reduction. This was thanks in large part due to 50 Cent's one time Vitamin Water buyout, which was part of the 2008 figure.
Diddy finishes behind only Jay-Z at $35 million and ahead of Kanye West, 50 Cent, Akon, Lil' Wayne, Timbaland, Pharrell, T-Pain and others.
