Dawn Richard has broken the silence on the Danity Kane situation,
speaking to MTV News' Jocelyn Vena.
She revealed that all five girls were invited back to the new season of Making the Band 4, to see if something could be worked out. Of the five, only Dawn and Aundrea Fimbres showed.
"As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist]," Dawn Richard told MTV News on Wednesday (January 28). "It's devastating for me."
"You'll see me and Drea [Aundrea Fimbres] try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season's show] — pieces that we didn't even make," she continued. "We didn't even break it and we're trying to sweep it up ourselves. Puff invited all the
girls to come back on this season and they chose not to. Only two of us showed up. That's fine if that's the choice.
In another portion of the interview, Dawn says that she wanted the original group. "Even if we weren't the best of friends, the business worked," she said. "That's how I felt." But, can a group have longevity if there is infighting?
"I thought we all came in this to be a part of it," she adds later. "Even with all the trials and tribulations, I thought the big common dream was - tunnel vision - was music. And I felt that maybe that's not everybody's heart. Like everybody else has maybe other goals and dreams that are maybe before that. And I'm OK with that, but I wish I would have known that because maybe I wouldn't have put everything into it."
Speaking of Diddy, Richard commented:
"I think he's devastated. I think he thought people would get over it 'cause he's a man," Richard said. "He's just confused. I think that's what makes him crazy the most. He's like, 'I'm the master of all of this, and they totally pulled the wool.' I think he's bitter and angry."
Dawn again denied rumors of a solo career, saying that she has just been writing. Though, she says, "... maybe there will be, if I stay true and keep hustling, because Puff only hangs with people who break their necks and bend over backwards for their craft. So, I don't even think he's on that tip, yet. He just wants to see how great I can be at what he tells me to be great at."
Dawn had similar messages in an
interview with INSIDE BLACK HOLLYWOOD.
Shannon recently taped an interview with PIX 11 TV in New York, but didn't mention that she hadn't attended Making the Band 4 filming.
MTV News reports on that, as well.
