02/08: Report: Gorilla Zoe No Longer Signed to Bad Boy ("King Kong" Set for March 22 Release)
Back in August,
Block Entertainment CEO Russell "Block" Spencer confirmed that Gorilla Zoe was still signed to Bad Boy, even with
E1 Music's involvement in his project.
That may have changed. Last month,
HipHopDX's Jake Paine reported that Zoe's upcoming album, "King Kong," would be his "first solo album without the involvement of Bad Boy Records or Sean "Diddy" Combs." The album is now set for a March 22 release.
Adding to this is the fact that Gorilla Zoe's "What's Goin On" has charted on Billboard, but not under Bad Boy. Instead, it is listed under Block/eOne/Atlantic.
I have been hearing whispers of this for a while, but have been unable to receive confirmation from anyone involved.
