Josh Wigler of MTV reports that "Get Him to the Greek" was the best new release at the box office in it's opening weekend, grossing $17.4 million.

According to reports, this seems to be a modest success. Wigler calls it "respectable," saying that it nearly halves the film's $40 million dollar production budget.

Other new releases included "Killers" (starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl), "Marmaduke" and "Spice." They banked $16.1 million, $11.3 million and $7.4 million, respectively, according to Nikki Finke.

Including previous releases, "Greek" finished behind only "Shrek Forever After 3D," which came in with $24.3 million.
