Pitchfork reports that Janelle Monae's next album, "The ArchAndroid" is set for a May 18 release. "Tightrope," the lead single featuring Big Boi, which debuted online today.

Guest performers: in addition to Big Boi and Of Montreal, the album will feature poet Saul Williams, Deep Cotton and the Wondaland Arch Ochestera.

Inspiration: Salvador Dalí, Walt Disney, OutKast, Stevie Wonder, Octavia Butler, David Bowie, Andy Warhol, and John Williams are among those who reportedly inspired the set, along with the venues where the writing for it took place: Moscow, Prague, Istanbul, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York and the "Palace of the Dogs."

Executive production: Nate Wonder, Chuck Lightning, Janelle Monae and Diddy are listed as executive producers with Big Boi receiving a co-executive producer credit.
