The BET Awards 2007 just ended. So, of course, I'm going to do a recap from the Bad Boy perspective.
In the opening sequence, they introduced those featured and an assortment of them received extended sequences where their music played. Diddy was one of those with "Last Night" playing.
Diddy and Keyshia Cole performed an incredible rendition (different beginnings and endings) of "Last Night". Mario was on the drums, I believe. Keyshia sang live with Diddy lipsyncing, as should probably be expected. I mean, it would have been cool to see him do it live, but I don't know how realistic that is.
When I was watching those intros, I saw that Lil' Kim was mentioned and thought "maybe she'll come out for the Last Night remix." Sure enough! She came out half way through the set and did the first verse from the Last Night remix.
Diddy and Keyshia killed it. Honestly, Kim's part was probably the weakest. She was off - her vocals were too low. But, Diddy, Kim and Keyshia did this sort of back and forth where they are vying for Diddy's attention and it was cool to watch, for sure.
The ending was very strong with Diddy being joined by a choir chorus of sorts singing parts of the song with Keyshia to his right and Kim to his left (not right next to him, but near) with his platform rising as the performed came to a close, with Diddy putting a 1 in the air.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, but anyone can say what they want to say about Diddy - he knows how to perform. He's a perfectionist and it shows. If anyone wants to know how to perform, they should watch videos of Diddy.
Anyway, after it was over, they were showing applause from the crowd... 50 Cent was definitely enjoying it. Flavor Flav was, as well.
Unfortunately, Diddy came up empty on the award side of things. The award for best "Hip Hop Artist" was given to T.I. while "Best Collaboration was given to Ludacris and Mary J. Blige.
Edit: One thing that I neglected to mention last night was that T-Pain came out and did a 1 minute performance of "Buy U A Drink (Shawty Snappin')", but did not bring out Yung Joc (it was a mini performance, like I said, so that was probably why). But, his name and voice were kept in the song.
