06/05: More on New Burger King Commercial
A few days ago I described the
new Diddy Burger King commercial. It turns out that it was directed by Paul Hunter. Check out the
press release for more.
Burger King Corporation (NYSE:BKC) announced today that participating U.S. BURGER KING® restaurants are now open until midnight or later, seven days a week. Sean “Diddy” Combs, CEO, music mogul, entrepreneur and philanthropist made his debut as the chain’s “Late Night Ambassador” with a star appearance in a national ad spot announcing the new late night hours.
“In today’s 24-hour society people work harder and play longer,” said Russ Klein, president of global marketing, strategy and innovation, Burger King Corporation. “We’re responding to demand by offering our customers the option to fuel up with their favorite BURGER KING® menu items when they need us most. Diddy, our Late Night Ambassador, is front and center to spread the word.”
The new broadcast ad, titled “CEO to CEO,” takes place after midnight when Diddy gets a craving for his favorite BURGER KING® meal. Upon learning the restaurants are closed, he wakes up the Burger King Corporation CEO, who drives Diddy to a restaurant. The CEO opens the doors for Diddy and his entourage. The ad, directed by Paul Hunter, well-known for his work with stars such as Gwen Stefani and Justin Timberlake, began airing nationwide on June 1.
The campaign also includes custom-created late-night packaging designed by Sean John, Diddy’s award-winning clothing label. To help kick off the new expanded hours platform, a late-night paint scheme will adorn the BURGER KING® car during an upcoming NASCAR race.
