02/28: British Court Rules "The Future" Violates Name Deal; MySpace and YouTube Trial Set for October
News on the
new Dearlove case: a
British court has ruled that the lyric "mainline that Diddy heroin" from "The Future" on "Press Play" is a violation of the
deal they had previously agreed to.
However, the judge also found that "record companies" were responsible for the content of Diddy's MySpace and YouTube pages and since record companies were not part of the claim, the matter couldn't be considered. The article mentions the next scheduled legal proceeding:
The extent of Combs' control over the content of the MySpace and YouTube sites will now be the subject of a full High Court trial scheduled for October, unless attempts at a compromise between the two sides are successful.
