Sean John will be launching it's second pop up shop in Los Angeles, open from June 4 through 30. It'll be located at 8570 West Sunset Boulevard and you'll be able to find the spring/summer and early fall 2010 sportswear collections as well as sunglasses, fragrances and an exclusive denim and knit capsule collection available only at this store.

The first pop up shop opened in Miami during the NFL Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. We then learned that they planned for more of these in the future and this is evidence of that.

James Covert of the New York Post reports that Sean John and Macy's have agreed to a deal that makes the department store the exclusive distributor of Sean John's sportswear line. This will begin in the spring of 2011 and will eventually lead to the line being sold in all Macy's stores.

WWD's David Lipke says that the deal is for men's sportswear, but that article is behind a paywall, so I'm not able to view the full content.

The specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Sean John blog has photos of a special pre-NFL (National Football League) draft event sponsored by the clothing label and Rolls-Royce Motors.

The "Pre-Draft Fine Tailoring Experience" brought some members of the 2010 NFL Draft class to the Sean John store in New York City for a custom-tailored suit before the draft began. Thomas was taken 22nd overall while Williams was selected at the 26th spot. In all, over 250 players will be selected in the draft.

It looks like Sean John is updating the classic Sean John Times Square billboard in NYC and Arcade44 got a behind the scenes look at the shoot, as well as interviews with Diddy and stylist Derek Roche. Mark Seliger is the photographer. Watch below.

The Sean John blog says that the new image is set for a June launch. It's probably not coincidental that Diddy's album, "Last Train to Paris," is also due for a June release.

In January of 2009, glass artist Tom Patti filed a lawsuit against Diddy and the supposed designers of the packaging for Sean John Unforgivable. Specifically, the square, plastic case that the bottle of cologne rests in. In September, court proceedings began.

Janon Fisher at the New York Post has the latest in the case: lawyers for Diddy are now looking for the judge to compel Brooklyn, New York-based GLASS Quarterly to provide notes from the author of a 2008 article that suggested Sean John had misappropriated Patti's sculpture. Specifically, the contention is that the magazine gave Patti the idea to file the suit.

The New York Post has named Sean John's debut fashion show in Bryant Park in 2000 as one of the top 10 "tent moments at Bryant Park," in honor of the park's final year as host of Fashion Week, ending a 17 year run. Mandy Stadtmiller writes:

4. 2000 — Sean John debuts. “Diddy’s first show was massive,” [Fern Mallis, Fashion Week organizer] says. “There were airport runway lights, and people’s jaws just dropped. All these hunky fabulous guys came out wearing light pastel and more diamonds on than you could shake a stick at — and not one guy looked gay.”

In light of this occasion, Sean John has posted video from this show online. Check it out below.
