MTV's Rob Markman reported that, last Friday, Yelawolf was asked on Shade 45, by host Rude Jude, for his thoughts on being compared to Machine Gun Kelly.

He then said that being asked to sign a Machine Gun Kelly autograph is "probably the most insulting thing on the planet." This was followed by an impersonation of MGK, "Yeah, mothherf*****. Let me sign your Birkenstock motherf*****."

Before the BET Awards on Sunday, MGK gave Markman his answer to the comments.

"I love him, man," he said. "You gotta respect your elders, and he's an old man so I gotta give it up. I respect all grandpas around the world doin' it big. Salute."

Cleveland's The Plain Dealer newspaper put Machine Gun Kelly on the cover of today's Sunday edition. The profile written by John Soeder makes for an interesting read.

They discussed the flash mob that led to his arrest, the origins of the phrase "lace up" and his loyalty to Cleveland.

He opened up about drug abuse that he was able to put a stop to last year after his "musical crew" threatened to leave him. Recently, after some trouble that he declined to detail, he found himself on the phone with Bad Boy CEO Diddy and Interscope Geffen A&M Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine.

"'Quit playing with fire.' That was what they said to me," MGK told Soeder. "They said, 'Why do you always choose the dumbest [expletive] to play with? If you play with fire, you're going to get burned.' I guess I'm finally learning that."

HOT 97's Peter Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds and Kay Foxx had Machine Gun Kelly on their show recently for a half hour long interview where they covered a number of topics. They discussed his ban from the Highline Ballroom, his stage presence, beef, his legal trouble and more. The video is below.

Among the more interesting things that MGK revealed was that the consistent trouble he's landed in, namely arrests, fights, lawsuits, being banned from 2 shows on the Hostile Takeover tour, had led Bad Boy to consider shelving his album and the rapper's management to discuss leaving him.

"I'm on like a 3 week and 4 days of sobriety of anger," he said. "I was about to basically be shelved by my label and my management was gonna leave because I have the worst attitude in the world."

"This is the first time I've really talked about it, but it got really serious. I almost got kicked off the tour. Me and Tech had a really great relationship, but I would be like beefing with other people on the tour. And then you think about it - if someone stepped at my best friend and came at him sideways and was doing all this stuff and was attacking my merch guy, I would be like, 'get this little guy out of here.' Tech was really fighting for me, which was crazy. Now that I look back, I'm like I can't believe I was that unappreciative."

Over the weekend, Complex reported that Machine Gun Kelly had been banned from performing when the Hostile Takeover Tour rolled into New York City for a June 17 show at Highline Ballroom.

Complex talked with the rapper, who expressed concern over how he is being received as a performer.

"I’m a huge lyricist, but I think people pay attention to me cutting myself on stage or getting in fights or climbing up on a balcony and hanging upside down and s*** like that, instead of focusing on me standing on top of people rapping every single word perfectly, [rapidly] and clearly," he said.

"I think I'm gonna start releasing more content, and start focusing on how I'm a bad motherf***** when I'm on the microphone," he continued. "I'm a bad motherf***** in real life too, but I'm gonna start focusing [more on my music] so it's like, 'Wow, this guy is doing more good than bad.' I think I was caught up in not trying to over-saturate the market, and let people pay attention to the beauty in my songwriting."

Last week, TMZ reported that Machine Gun Kelly had been sued by a security guard at a club in Florida. He claims that the rapper used a broken bottle to cut his finger open.

The suit stems from MGK's arrest in Florida in January for disorderly conduct. MGK's representatives did not respond to TMZ's request for comment.
