Last week, we shared the MySpace pages for the competitors on "P. Diddy's StarMaker", a new solo artist talent search show that will premiere on August 16 at 10 PM ET on MTV.

A PR company representing the show passed along photos and bios for all of the singers who will be vying for a record deal with Bad Boy. Check them out below.

Angel Inez, 24, Newark, NJ

Angel Inez

In the past few weeks, Angel Inez got fired from her job and evicted from her apartment--all for pursuing her biggest dream of becoming a star. But she's no stranger to struggle. While her neighborhood friends fell into bad habits, Angel remained focused on her dreams and spends most of her time performing at talent shows. Naturally a shy person, Angel turns up the energy when she gets up on stage. She has written songs on topics that she is familiar with including poverty, dropping out of high school, abusive relationships, and an imprisoned father. She is ready and willing to refine her voice and performing skills to become the star she feels she's destined to be.

In the July 18, 2009 issue of Billboard Magazine, it's reported that the "Last Train to Paris" album by Diddy is slated for November 2009, with a specific day TBD. This would represent a push back from the previously announced September 22 release date. I've reached out to Bad Boy for comment.

As an aside, I was disappointed with their Fall/Winter 2009 music feature as it neglected to spotlight "Last Train to Paris," which is the latest album from a highly successful artist. Considering some of the other albums they profiled, it felt like a notable omission.

Yesterday, we premiered the trailer for "P. Diddy's StarMaker." The long-anticipated MTV show will see Diddy on the hunt for a new solo act to sign to Bad Boy.

Through some research, I have tracked down what appear to be the official MySpace pages for all contestants of the show. These pages include more information about all of the individuals, such as their real names, background information, some of their music and, in some cases, links to videos, Twitter pages and other online profiles. Here's the list:

David J. (David Joseph)
Marissa (Marissa Renee)
Zach (Zach Berkman)
Lauren (Lauren Thomas)
Todd (Todd Sarvies) (member of band John Boy's Courage)
Lauriana (Lauriana Mae)
David B. (David Bennett)
Angel (Angel Inez)
Omotayo (Omotayo "Ty" Riley)
Liz (Liz Davis)
Jordan
Monet (Monet Monico)
Christopher
Melody

For what it's worth, Monet has the most music plays on MySpace by far at 1,315,813, followed by Zach at 162,289 and Christopher at 111,935.

Back in June, we shared video of Asher Roth at Diddy's Miami home, where Diddy jokingly caught Roth taking slippers from his house. In an interview with Ben Barna at BlackBook, Roth discusses hanging out with the Bad Boy CEO:

I saw a video of you and your buddies at Diddy’s crib in Miami. How did that happen?

That’s when I realized how powerful Twitter was. I was in Miami on Memorial Day, on Twitter, and I was like “Yo Diddy what’s up, we have some margaritas and a boat,” and the next thing I knew I had an email that was like, “This is Diddy’s home line, he wants you to call him.” And I call him up and he picks up the phone and he’s like “Hello?—just talking all Diddy-ish—and said that he was telling me to come over and have some food, just to meet me and see what I was doing. He’s actually a really cool dude. I went over there and it was just Diddy and Cassie. So we just kicked it, took out some jet skis, had a steak dinner, and talked about my mission and what he’s been doing. And Diddy’s a fan, and I’m also a fan. I mean Diddy’s a mogul, you can’t deny that. It was just really a pleasure to be over there and just spend some time with a mogul.

On Tuesday, TechCrunch, a large blog dedicated to business and startup news, revealed that they had been sent a cache of private corporate documents from Twitter from an alleged hacker.

So, why am I mentioning this? Well, a portion of the documents highlighted by TechCrunch's Erick Schonfeld outlines an internal discussion about Diddy's use of the service and the possibility of bringing him on as an adviser.

The notes are brief, but they appear to indicate that they discussed giving Diddy "adviser shares" in the company, before suggesting that Diddy is "not so strategic." They discussed the ideas of entertainment business development as well as an Entertainment or Marketing Advisory Board.

But, it's not all kind words. "It would be hard to explain to him what we would be doing wrong since he thinks about business differently," reads one line. "Diddy values his contribution higher than we do," says the next line, indicating that Diddy values his contribution to the growth of Twitter higher than the Twitter people do.

They express an interest in talking to the people at Ciroc and putting together a group, rather than just focusing on Diddy. Perhaps, the notes say, they could get members of this group to invest in Twitter "which will give us more pull with them when they do things we don't like."

A "distractionary element" is mentioned and the section closes with simply, "Keep them happy."

People are going to blow this up to be a bigger story than it is. I can see it now. "Twitter disses Diddy." But, the reality is that most this is pretty reasonable, though I feel they are both underestimating Diddy's business savvy and overestimating how he values his own contributions.

For his part, Diddy has appeared to be an unabashed promoter of the service. He didn't adopt it early, necessarily, but he adopted it a heck of a lot earlier than a lot of other celebrities did, celebrities of a much lower stature in the world of entertainment.

According to promotional videos released by MTV, singers Lady Gaga, Kelly Rowland, Pete Wentz and Nicole Scherzinger will all have some involvement with the show. This comes after numerous push backs. The season will be 10 episodes long and will feature a team of "industry tastemakers and poker players hand-selected by Diddy to teach, test, coach, and ultimately create the world's next global music superstar."

As previously reported, that team will feature super-producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and singer/actress Kimberly Caldwell.

It will also include former Billboard Executive Editor Tamara Conniff, accomplished choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson and artist manager Johnny Wright. See the full press release below.

After finishing third in both 2007 and 2008, Diddy has moved up to second place in the 2009 Forbes list of the top earners in hip-hop.

Diddy's $30 million dollars in estimated income was a $5 million dollar drop from 2008 (though still $2 million dollars higher than 2007), but the list as a whole saw a 40% reduction. This was thanks in large part due to 50 Cent's one time Vitamin Water buyout, which was part of the 2008 figure.

Diddy finishes behind only Jay-Z at $35 million and ahead of Kanye West, 50 Cent, Akon, Lil' Wayne, Timbaland, Pharrell, T-Pain and others.

Honey Magazine has an interview with Dawn Richard where she talks about Dirty Money, "Last Train to Paris" and more.

Honey: So let's talk about the new situation. The new music, the new group, break that down for us.
Yeah, I started out writing with Puff with Last Train To Paris, with Cassie, and with Day26. I got songs on all three albums. Puff was like "I like your writing. I think you should keep writing." Then he was like "I think you should work on Last Train To Paris." So we got in the lab and came up with this amazing new sound. I will not give you guys anything, ya'll know how it works. This new movement has been giving room for the music to just be what it is. People tend to want to class things and stereotype them. You can't with this project. All I can say is you have a train to catch and you best be on it when it takes off because it's gonna go and it's an amazing movement. And I am really proud of Last Train To Paris, and the group I am in now Dirty Money, which consist of Puff, me, and Kalina.

Day26 members Qwanell "Que" Mosley and Willie Taylor have previously confirmed on Twitter that "Your Heels" will be the group's second single from "Forever in a Day." Even so, there is now a poll on the Bad Boy MySpace asking you to vote to help them choose their next single.

This follows the poll staged in mid-May. The choices for this poll are different as "Shawty Wats Up" and "Then There's You" have been removed and "Babymaker" has been added. You'll note, however, that the video for "Girlfriend" has already premiered online.

I voted for "Shawty Wats Up" in the last poll. Given these choices, my vote would go to "So Good," one of my favorite tracks off the album. At the time of writing, 925 votes have been cast and "Your Heels" holds the lead at 39%. "So Good" follows at 31%. "Babymaker" (16%) and "Girlfriend" (14%) round out the final two spots.

I didn't listen to a lot of music growing up, actually. It wasn't until I got out of college that I explored more. Even now, I'm careful to limit how much music I take in. I don't want to be overly influenced by others. I love to read books like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K Dick, and I've been inspired by visual artists, especially Salvador Dali.
